2015 Fashion Trends for Tween Girls

I have two tween girls in my house right now, and clothes shopping with them is always… interesting. Finding styles that they like and I feel are appropriate can be a bit of a challenge.

Tween Fashion Trends: Skater Dresses featuring P.S. from Aeropostale

I’ve been a part of the P.S. from Aeropostale ambassador program for a while, and I’m always excited when they refill my store card so I can update my girls’ wardrobes because this has become one of my go-to stores for tween fashion. They have cute styles and good prices, and they update their inventory often so there’s usually plenty to choose from.

Here’s what’s hot for tween girls this season.

Skater dresses: This silhouette is girlish and cute. Both of my girls have a couple of dresses in this style, and they love them. R has already worn this lace dress several times. These are similar.

Maxi Dresses: These I love because of the more modest length. This pink paisley hi-lo maxi dress was my R’s Easter dress, and she has some of the more casual ones for school.

Shorty Shorts: These are also a bit of a challenge in the modesty department, but they’re what my younger daughter prefers. I like that P.S. from Aeropostale has given some of theirs a higher rise this year.

Graphic Tees: Graphic tees are still all the rage, and Aeropostale always has a great selection.

Bermuda Shorts: I was pleased to see a good selection of Bermuda shorts at Aero this season because some moms aren’t a fan of the shorter shorts, and a lot of schools and camps have dress codes that prohibit them. My older daughter wears Bermuda shorts quite often. They look really cute on her, and they’re definitely more modest than the shorty shorts.

Rompers: My older daughter loves rompers. She’s been wearing them for a few seasons, and they’re hotter than ever this year. I think this one with the palm trees is especially cute.

Shortalls: My older daughter has taken to wearing the short overalls a lot recently. It’s a cute, casual look that’s a fun alternative to shorts.

Disclosure: I was provided with a gift card to shop the new arrivals at P.S. from Aeropostale. Opinions are my own.

  1. With end of year hustle and bustle I haven’t had time to sit down with your blog for a week or so. Wow…lots of fun updates to read! I’m so glad you covered the undergarments/shapewear topic. As one of the over 40 set, it is useful information. Another random topic, I would love to see how you organize all of your jewelry! Mine seem to be in random places that I have combined over the years. Thanks for the Aero coupon code too. Our store doesn’t carry kids styles, so I’m stuck with online. I usually stick with Gap/Old Navy but would like other options as well. Your posts have encouraged me to take one of these last few kids in school days and go shopping. I need to spruce up my makeup routine too and no kid wants to go shopping for that! Have a great weekend.

  2. Thank you for the information. I struggle with the same challenges with my 14 year old daughter. It is so great to know I am not alone and it is also great to learn about better choices.

  3. Shopping for Tween girls is HARD! I hear about AERO back at Christmas and I ordered a dress for my daughter from there. I was so impressed I bought her entire spring wardrobe from there online a few weeks ago. My daughter will only wear Bermuda shorts and AERO was one of the only places I could find them in her size. I wish I had known about the promo code a few weeks ago!

  4. we love PS also but wish they would extend there sizes. They only go to size 14 wish they would add 16,18 and 20 would be good for them to compete with Justice an other tween stores that do carry bigger sizes. Have you ever felt that they run small?

    1. I feel like it’s pretty true to size, but I agree, it would be great if they’d extend the sizes b/c I have started taking my 12-y/o to the adult Aero. She can find some cute stuff there, but a lot of it isn’t too mature for her.
