25 Days of Fall Fashion: Early Fall Weekend Look

Happy Saturday, friends! I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I’m still in Maine, but it’s day 7 of 25 Days of Fall Fashion, so I wanted to pop on real quick and share this early fall weekend look. I’ve actually worn a variation of this outfit three times since I got this top.

I’m a longtime fan of a sleeveless cowl neck top for fall. Since warm weather tends to linger well into September, this is a great transition piece. The cowl neckline hints at cooler days to come, but the sleeveless design keeps you cool, and of course you can layer a cardigan or jacket on top if you get cold. In fact, I wore this top on the plane on Thursday under my thermal hooded cardi.

It’s a really soft, drapey material, and I love how it’s cut high under the arms — most tops like this seem to be too low and show my bra. For size reference, I’m in the small.

It was 90 degrees the day we shot this look, but would you believe it that Alison and I found this spot with leaves on the ground? If we didn’t know any better, we’d have thought it was the perfect fall day.

So these shoes… I am so in love with these! They were an #NSale purchase, and many of you probably remember me going gaga over them when I found them on the first day of the sale.

I wore the chestnut colored ones all day yesterday, and they are so comfortable. They have a memory foam footbed and arch support, plus they’re just plain cute. They work right into the loafer look that is trending, but these aren’t masculine or rigid at all.

They’re still available in all colors, AND still on sale. You may want to size up half in these, but I’m wearing my regular size and they do loosen up.

I kept my accessories simple with oversized pearl earrings, a cuff bracelet, and of course my trusty sunnies.

I’ve never loved a long pendant with a cowl sweater, so I left it plain, but I suppose I could have gone bolder with my earrings and/or bracelet. I tend to be a plain Jane, though, when it comes to accessories, and I like it this way for an understated everyday look.

  1. Great casual look but so put together.. I love the pop of red in the loafers. Sorry to hear your time away didn’t go as planned.  Hope you still enjoyed your time with family:)

  2. I like the new sales alert feature. You are making our life easier. Does it work only starting today. Lol I like the ponte leggings from earlier in week.

  3. Love this look! I’ve never purchased a red pair of shoes in my life. But I think these may be my first. I love how you styled them with the grey top and the jeans. Safe travels!

  4. I really like this look.  Casual and cool.  I also love your red loafers.  I love the look of these and tried 2 sizes in the grey during the Anniversary sale, but alas, my bad feet could not get comfortable.  Personal problem.  And for all of you younger women developing bunions, don’t ignore them.  A proper insert can arrest their development and you can avoid some of the problems I am facing in my 50’s, including sore knees.  Your feet are just the beginning!

  5. Sorry your trip didn’t go as planned. Hopefully you had a good visit with family. Safe travels home! 😀
Like the unexpected pop of color from the red loafers. Very cute.

  6. So cute. Love the shoes but not in my size in brown. Don’t need red or black. Safe travels home. No matter how good trip is its good to get home.

  7. I hope that your flight home will be very smooth.  I know the girls, Paul, and Savannah will be happy to see you and have you attend church with them tomorrow.  I REALLY like this outfit!  I jumped on the Nordstrom site to look at the loafers, but my size doesn’t seem to be available.  But I am going to check it again in a few moments because most of my shoes are rather chunky, so I’d like to replace them.  God bless!

  8. I’m sorry you visit wasn’t all you hoped it to be. Hope you still had some quality time with your mom. Daughters need their moms, as moms need their daughters.
    Love the look!

  9. The set sale alert is a really neat idea.  I can’t believe all the stuff that can be done these days. 🙂  You look so comfortable and cute. I love a red shoe with grey.  Glad you had a good trip.  Time away always goes too fast.  But, I’m sure you had a good time having alone time with your mom.

  10. Love your outfit! I tried to get a sale alert on your shirt. When I entered my email address, it prompted me to enter “my existing ShopStyle password” or continue with Facebook or Google. There was no other option – not even to create a ShopStyle account, which I don’t mind doing. Love this idea!! I hope I can get it to work! Thank you!!!!
