Baby, it’s cold outside . . .

Our weather has taken a turn for the winter this week, and I’m finding myself going for my heavier coats instead of my light fall jackets when I leave the house. As I said in my Winter Coat Guide a few weeks ago, I’m a huge fan of a full length down puffer coat. There is nothing warmer, and they come in all sorts of gorgeous colors to brighten up a grey winter day.

The folks at Andrew Marc reached out to me a few weeks ago and invited me to partner them on a product review for one of their coats. Of course, I wasn’t about to pass that up! After debating all the choices, and there are many tempting options, I ended up ordering the Gayle — a gorgeous quilted 3/4-length 80/20 down coat with detachable fox trim hood.

A few days ago, we put my new winter coat to the test. With its warming down bib, ribbed storm cuffs, and fleece pocketing, this coat will keep me cozy warm in all kinds of weather. Plus, can we just discuss how gorgeous this is!?! There are several color options, but I opted for the silver because currently all of my coats are dark. I love the contrast of the black fur on the hood.

This coat retails for $595, but it is currently on sale for $449. If you’re in sticker shock, never fear. Andrew Marc has coats priced as low as $119, so there is something for virtually every budget. If you’re in the market for a new coat, definitely check out their holiday sale.

I’m also wearing my new Caron Moto Boots from Pour la Victoire.

I adore these moto boots. I wore them to the mall the other night for the Nordstrom holiday sale, and I felt so chic, plus I was comfortable walking around for hours.

  1. I haven’t owned a puffer jacket since the 80’s, I now have a job that requires me to hop in and out of the car all day and visit clients homes. are puffers light weight and are they easy to take on and off? I measure and draw floor plans and wearing a heavy coat and dragging it off and on all day are making me crazy. Any advice on a good alternative? Thanks!

    1. Hey Susan, some are lighter than others. I have one that is very light. I love it and it’s my go-to winter coat. This one is heavier, and I will save it for dressier occasions and when I want to be super warm.

  2. Good morning Jo-Lynne! I really like the color of your puffer coat. I have a Lands End chocolate brown puffer coat that I’ve had for years, and of course it is still in great shape. One of the things I love about it is that it will go over my thickest sweaters, etc., and allow for comfortable arm movement.

    Have a blessed day!

  3. I love this outer wear… It seems like when it turns cold from now to March your coats and boots are the items every one see’s LOL. You look lovely

  4. Found your blog not too long ago. You are so adorable and I love your style. I am an over 40 mama too …..so your blog gives me hope that fashion over 40 doesn’t have to be frumpy! Keep it up!

  5. I love the song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” I’m the only one in my family who does, but they have to listen to it anyway since I put our Christmas playlists together. 😉 That coat looks so warm & cozy.

  6. I love the coat and those boots!! Unfortunately, the coat won’t work for our mild AZ winters, but you look fabulous.
