26 Days of Fall Outfits featuring Utility Vest

Welcome to our 26 Days of Fall Outfits series!

26 Days of Fall Fashion

Cyndi and I are teaming up to bring you a new outfit every day of September (excluding Sundays.) We hope these posts give you some fresh outfit inspiration as we transition to fall. I always encourage you to shop your closet first, but if you do want to add a few new items to your wardrobe, I’ll do my best to provide current product links that fit a variety of budgets.

To kick off our 26 Days of Fall Fashion, I wanted to style this utility vest that I picked up at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago. It was 50% off, so I didn’t think twice before I grabbed it. I’ve been wanting to add a utility vest to my wardrobe for a while because it’s such a great layering piece, and you can wear it over short or long sleeves or even a tank top.

For my utility jacket debut, I went with neutrals — this grey t-shirt with my dark skinnies and gold espadrille flats. Espadrilles are more of a summer shoe, but I think we can get by with them for a few more weeks. Any neutral ballet flat would work, though.

This Mini Crosby Crossbody in port is a new fall wardrobe addition as well. I knew I’d get a lot of mileage out of this color. It holds just the essentials, so it’s a perfect going-out bag.

(I do wish I’d taken the time to put on a belt. We were rushing to get out of the house, but I do recommend wearing a belt when tucking a shirt in. Also, you may enjoy this post on how to front tuck your shirt.)

Gold accessories and my favorite sunnies complete this casual early fall outfit!

  1. I love the gold cuff bracelet. It’s hard to find cuff bracelets that aren’t overly bulky. As someone with a wider hand/wrist bone structure, I feel like that bracelet would provide balance and not add bulk. 🙂

  2. I really like that utility vest. I’ve been contemplating one… this makes me think I may need one sooner than later!

  3. I love how the vest can take you from the warm days of early fall through much cooler days depending on how you layer it with different tops, etc..It’s a perfect transitional wardrobe piece!
