Fashion Over 40: How to Style the LUSH Roll-Tab Sleeve Tunic

Welcome back to 26 Days of Fall Outfits! Today is Day 11, and I finally brought out the knee-high boots!

These wedge boots were sent to me by The Walking Company a few years ago, so they’re no longer available, but these Rockports are similar. I love a wedge boot. It gives you a little extra height, but it’s stable to walk in. These are particularly flattering because of the almond-shaped toe.

Wedge Boots for Fall

I picked up this roll tab sleeve tunic on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a few weeks ago. I love this port color for fall. I’m seeing it everywhere. This tunic is a MUST HAVE this fall. It comes in several colors, and it’s such a great top to wear so many ways. Here’s a look from the back. Pardon the dorky pinch clip in my hair. I really need to figure out how to use bobby pins for a more polished look. But the tunic from the back is cute, yes?

I could have worn black knit pants or jeans or leggings, but I decided to wear my grey coated skinny jeans. I love how these have sort of a leather look, but they have the comfort and ease of cotton. Of course, now I can’t find a single pair of grey coated jeans to link you to. How weird is that!? You could do grey jeans, though. These actually look similar. Or a more casual grey jean would work too. That’s super on trend right now. If I had some, I’d definitely wear them with this top.

For accessories, I dug out this Stella & Dot beaded tassel necklace. I don’t know why I don’t wear it more often, but I thought it went perfectly with this outfit.

The grey satchel is one of my favorites. It was a splurge, even on a clearance sale, but it’s one of those bags I know I’ll have for many years. I tend to carry it more in the fall and winter, so I’m excited to get more use out of it.

Since the necklace is silver, I layered 3 silver bracelets, and then I added simple silver hoop earrings.

  1. Love this look. You’re such an inspiration!! I look forward to your blog every day….thanks to Cyndi Spivy! 🙂

  2. I was just looking at the tunic yesterday in the teal color! May I ask what size your wearing? It’s always hard to factor in how my girls affect the way shirts hang!

  3. Jo-Lynne, the clip is not dorky. Now if you had a neon green banana clip in your hair w/that outfit… 😉 That said, YouTube has become my friend re: using bobby pins & curling my hair. I wish I remembered a good link, but essentially, they showed taking the pin, grabbing some hair & bringing it up & over, then securing it under the hair do you don’t even see much of the pin. Wow, I made that clear as mud.

Great colors. Drooling over the bag. I likdle your specs, too.

  4. After reading the reviews at Nordstrom, I’m concerned about the fit. Some say it is really long and the sleeves can be too tight. I’m assuming there’s no stretch to the fabric. Also, does it have to be dry cleaned? How tall are you? What’s your feedback on the sleeves? Thanks! 🙂

    1. Hey Pam. Good questions. It is not stretchy, and it is Dry Clean Only. I’m about 5’5″ and I didn’t find the sleeves to be tight. I tend to have squarish/broad shoulders and slender arms. I hope that helps!

  5. I’m intrigued with the whole idea of tucking a bit of shirt into my jeans in the front. It’s a great way to deal with some of the extra fabric of the longer shirts, but when I try it, I keep feeling as if my shirt got stuck in my jeans when I left the bathroom! But seeing how great it looks on you, Jo-Lynne, I’m going to give it another try.

  6. Jo-Lynne does this top run big? I really like it but don’t want to order it and find out it is huge on me. Thanks!! Really love this look! 🙂

  7. Love the port color and gray what a good
    Idea to put together!
I never think to purchase gray.
    Also loving the boots!!!
    Happy weekend!
