How to Wear a Tunic Sweater with Skinny Jeans

Welcome back to 26 Days of Fall Outfits! Today is Day 14, and the ivory tunic sweater is back. Everyone loved the outfit with the ripped jeans and the mushroom suede boots on Day 6, but today I want to show another option for styling this sweater — with colored skinny jeans and ballet flats.

Both the sweater and the rust colored jeans are from my last Stitch Fix. This sweater would also be great with olive green pants, or plum. Really, it goes with anything. That’s the great thing about a neutral.

I chose to carry this tote in the classic “luggage” color — I like how it pulls the brown from the leopard print, and the contrasting straps are just so pretty.

I went with gold accessories because of the gold in the handbag. The last time I wore this sweater, I didn’t wear a necklace, but this time I decided to try it with my Stella & Dot Rebel Pendant. From there, I added gold hoops and a gold cuff bracelet. And of course my FitBit!

I love all the gold accessories against the ivory with the brown bag and the contrasting cream straps. This tote was another clearance purchase a few years ago, but here is a similar one on Amazon. That nail polish is a CND Shellac called Indigo Frock. I love it.

So there you have it — another casual mom-on-the-go outfit for fall that can take you from volunteering in your kid’s school classroom to lunch with the girls to the grocery store and home again. This outfit would also be great if you work as a teacher or in a casual office setting.

  1. I am loving your 26 Days of Fall Outfits series! BTW, the bracelet is it from S&D? I thought I had seen it a few months ago, but I could not find it on the website 🙁

    Thanks in advance!

        1. It’s odd. Some of their products stay around for AGES. And others seem to disappear quickly. I suppose it depends on how they sell. Also, I notice when a celeb picks up a product, those are the ones that they never get rid of. Like the Rebel Pendant and that spikey Renegade Bracelet. Both were seen on celebs, and they milk that for all it’s worth. LOL.

    1. So it’s $20 per box – but that $20 is applied to any order you make. They can send a box monthly, or you can just order one when you feel like it. I think you can also set it up to be bimonthly – however often you want. So sometimes I stop ordering them for a while and take a break. This time of year, I usually order another as soon as I send one back. You can also set up the price range you want your clothes to be so you are in your budget. It’s pretty cool.

    1. Aw, thanks, Cathy! But rest assured, I don’t dress like this every day. 🙂 This 26 days of outfits has been in the works for a while, and sometimes we take photos of 2 or 3 outfits at a time. 🙂 Today I’ve been in my running capris and tank top and sneakers all day. I had PT and I never changed. I have at least 2 days a week like that! 🙂

  2. I’m finding more and more as I watch you and Cyndi that beauty/fashion is in the details. The zippered pant leg, the contrasting purse straps, the coordination of color and accessories. This is intuitive, I know, but it’s also not. If that makes any sense. I think my biggest take away from this ootd routine is to take care in my details.

    1. YES! It’s those details that make fashion fun. But it’s not really that intuitive for me. I’ve been working on figuring it out for years and I still find that my outfits are hit or miss sometimes. I tend to overthink everything, which is how this whole fashion blog thing was born. 🙂

  3. Love the sweater, I know we can’t purchase from Stitch Fix but can you share the brand, or have you seen anything similar? I have looked but can’t find it.

  4. Cute outfit! Love the jeans! I have that handbag, expect in black. I love it. It’s so soft and just the right size for daily use.

  5. I must say that I’m becoming broke buying all the cute clothes and accessories you’re stylin’!! I just bought the Michael Kors handbag from your link and I have 2 pairs of leopard flats… Next I need to get over to Stella & Dot for that pendant necklace and the monogramed one too. Anyone out there need a Realtor so i can support my habit, lol?!

Have a wonderful day! God’s blessings on you and your family.

    1. HA! There are so many cute things this time of year. It is hard to stay on budget! I just got back from the mall. I had one thing to return and I ended up coming home with 3 new outfits. That was an expensive return. HAHA!

  6. I loved this look so much I searched for some pants in similar colors today. No luck on fit/style but not giving up! Love all these colors!

  7. LOVE your outfit!! You look FANTABULOUS! Can’t tell you & Cyndi enough how much I’m enjoying your collaboration…I know you both put lots of time into it!! THANK YOU!!
