Fall Outfit Ideas: Olive + Pumpkin

Welcome back to 26 Days of Fall Outfits! Today is Day 5. This outfit reminds me of a pumpkins and apple cider! I know we’re not there yet, but work with me here. This is an easy casual fall outfit that is perfect for running errands or hanging out with friends — perhaps a Starbucks coffee date (with a pumpkin spice latte, of course!!)

I ordered this rust-colored Harvest Morning Pullover when I saw Cyndi wearing it on her blog last week. YOU GUYS. I thought it was a sweater, but it’s more of an elevated sweatshirt. It is SO soft and comfy. I had never heard of Glamour Farms until Cyndi introduced me, and I’m thrilled with my first purchase from them. My only concern is that it’s 100% cotton so I hope it doesn’t shrink. It only had 2 size options, so I cautiously ordered the S/M, and it fits perfectly.

Here’s a back view. Super cute, right?? (And yes, I do own an iron. I just don’t use it very often.)

I love the details — the seaming down the front, the cowl neck, and the dropped shoulder.

It was my natural inclination to pair this top with dark jeans, but then I thought about these olive cargo pants. I LOVE this color combination!

I wanted to wear an ankle boot, so I dug my Toms Desert Booties out of the attic. I wasn’t sure about the color against the pants, but I think it works. These shoes are amazingly comfortable. They have just enough of a heel to give me some height, but not enough to be cruel to my finicky feet. I actually bought these when I was battling plantar fasciitis because the sales associate in the shoe store suggested them. They really do give you just the support you need. Plus, CUTE!!

Since I bought mine, they’ve come out with tons of styles and colors.

I struggled with how to style my pant legs. I tried a few different rolling methods, but they seemed to make my leg look stumpy. In the end, I just bunched them up at the bottom and let them sit on top of the boot. I have a post in the works on how to cuff your jeans with ankle boots, so stay tuned for that!!!

Now, this picture is just for fun, but I couldn’t resist. The leopard flats totally work, right? I might even like them better than the booties. They definitely offer another option. You’re going to be so sick of these shoes by the end of this series! LOL!!

  1. I absolutely LOVE this outfit. You’re right – the colors just scream “FALL!” And I love the cut of the sweatshirt with the skinny pants – adorable.

  2. You look amazing!! Love the colors on you!! And I will never tire of the leopard flats! Love the Toms, I have them in flats…but need to try the wedge style. I found the Felicia flats in solid at Belk yesterday to try on. I have a very narrow foot & the 8 is a bit loose. Do you think the Alaine would run a little narrower? Sorry for such a long comment. Have a great weekend

    1. I live for long comments! LOL. No apology necessary. 🙂 I did not try the Felicia, so I don’t know for sure, but the Alaine is pretty narrow. Nordstrom makes returns super easy, though, so if you order and don’t like them, you can send them right back. 🙂

  3. OK. I have to check out Glamour Farms.

Those little leopard flats will be worn out by the end of the month, girlfriend. LOL No worry, another reason to shop. 🙂

  4. I love the top from Glamour Farms, paired with olive green! I think I like the leopard flats better with this outfit. Or, maybe it’s because I’m obsessed with these shoes, ha! I’m excited that you’re going to give us ideas on how to roll pants to wear with boots! Your children are so cute, too!

  5. Love this shirt because it has an interesting neckline – a hoodie look in front without the hoodie bulk in the back (which I find uncomfortable). Love the Booties too!

  6. Hi Jo-Lynne,
Yes, this outfit is very Fall-ish… and very feminine yet very outdoorsy too. I would wear this with flats for a hike at our Natural Bridge State Park or with wedges like you have, for a day out with my daughters shopping!! Love this cute outfit, and you look amazing in it!!! 🙂

  7. I was wondering whether the Harvest Morning Sweater shrunk after you washed it? I am typically a Medium top, so I can’t decide which size to buy:) Thanks!

  8. Hi there,

I love your glasses also. Very cute outfit. I’m not your age and I’m a grandma, but I love what you put together and it gives me ideas beyond my usual. Love the shoes!
    Thanks,
    Lyn
