A Collection of Random Thoughts

First, someone mentioned that they were having trouble commenting yesterday.  And I had noticed that my comments weren’t as abundant as they have been recently.  Frankly, it was starting to feel a bit lonely around here.  So I was wondering if maybe others were having trouble too.

Second, I’m feeling a tad cranky this morning about not posting a picture for Wordless Wednesday.  It seems like every blog I visit this morning has an adorable picture of their kids plastered on the screen.  I feel left out.  Sniff.  And I had the KEY-utest picture ready to go too.

So visualize, if you will, the summer of 1994 and two sweet kids, a girl and a boy, oh about 18 months old and 4-and-a-half, respectively.  They’re sitting on the lower step of a deck, holding popsicles, and the little girl has sticky red juice running down her chin.  The boy is leaning in towards his little sister, and the little girl has her foot kicked out in front of her with her big toe sticking up to the sky.  Both are looking at the camera with smiles of pure joy, kids without a care in the world.  The sky is blue, the grass is green, it’s a warm summer evening.  That’s the picture I had set to auto-post for today’s Wordless Wednesday.

Well, at least I have no problem offering myself up to the wackos of the world, so I do have a picture ready to go tomorrow for Throw Back Thursday.  It’s Husband and me, 10 years ago.  And the glasses, oh it’s a goodie, I promise.

Third, yes, #2 was its own post in and of itself, but stay with me here, we’re moving on to #3.  I just want to thank everyone for their helpful comments on my potty training post.  I have decided to hold off a little bit longer.  I think R is showing signs of getting ready, but not necessarily full readiness.  She is exactly 21 months as of yesterday.

I just can’t wait to start visiting every public restroom we encounter with an almost 2-year-old.  It’s every mother’s fondest memory, isn’t it?  On second thought, perhaps I’ll wait until she’s about to go off to kindergarten to train her.  This diaper thing ain’t such a bad deal, if you think about it.

And I know there was something else, but it escapes me at the moment.  Yes, I always say that.  My mind is a sieve these days.

Well, I’ll leave you with this.  I’m working on a post about what I’ve been learning recently.  I like to do one of those every once in a while, but it’s not quite ready yet.  The more serious and thoughtful posts always take me a few days.  Whereas this mindless prattle — I threw this together while my coffee was brewing this morning.  Yes siree, I’m all about quality prose here on The Blob.

Anyway, be thinking about something you are learning, because I’ll be asking you to join in with a comment or a post of your own.  So now, go enjoy the sunshine!  That’s what I’m gonna do.  After I grab a cup of that freshly brewed coffee that’s been calling my name.  TTFN!

  1. I had some problems, but seems to be all better now.

Public restrooms and little girls are icky. I try to avoid them at all costs. But A loves to “see the potties” all over town.

  2. Can’t wait to see the pic tomorrow. Yes, a 2 or 3 yr. old and public restrooms just don’t go together–they want to touch everything–ICK!

  3. I feel sad for you that you feel left out. And I miss seeing those precious faces…but I understand! And you even have me thinking now!

Anyway…Your description is great and I can picture it in my mind…and they are adorable!

Girls and potties – I’m in that stage. Mine just turned 2.5 and trained in about 2 days – I was totally amazed. She hasn’t gotten into the phase of wanting to visit them all yet, but when she has to go, she has to go! But she already knows to keep her hands off everything – I’m so proud! Yuk – I hate even thinking about the public bathrooms! Oh well!
