A Few of My Favorite Things

Good morning! We’re continuing today with the holiday gift guides, and this is a roundup of some of my favorite things. These are items I have and love and use all the time, and many I’ve had for years.

Some are repeats from previous Favorite Things lists because I tend to be very loyal to products I love, but I’ve got some newer finds in here as well. Any of these would make a great gift for the right person, or perhaps you’re looking for something to add to your holiday wish list!

My Favorite Things

This list is totally random. It includes fashion, beauty, home, and anything else that struck me as I was putting the post together. I couldn’t everything I wanted to share inside the graphic, so there are more listed below. Be sure to scroll through them all!

#1. Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm // Nothing new to see here… I just couldn’t leave it out because I look forward to using this cleansing balm every single night, as part of my evening skincare routine. It smells like the spa, and it gently melts away dirt and makeup without ever leaving my skin feeling dry or tight.

I always follow it up with my PCA Skin Nutrient Toner, another favorite that I should have included here. I guess I can add it down below.

#2. Tom Ford Selby 55MM Sunglasses // I recently purchased these sunglasses during a sale at Nordstrom. I’ve been wanting to update my brown tortoiseshell sunnies, and after trying a few pairs, these turned out to be the perfect choice. I love how they look on, and they’re lightweight and comfortable.

#3. Equipment Madalene Cashmere V-Neck // This is still one of my go-to sweaters to dress up or down, now in its third season. I think the details in the v-neck are so pretty, I love the raglan sleeves and the generous sleeve length, and the length is perfect for pairing with just about any denim silhouette. You can front tuck it if you want, but you don’t have to. It also layers easily under a leather moto or bomber jacket.

This is the sweater I reach for when I want a cozy date night look, yet it also feels appropriate for church on Sundays or casual get togethers with friends. I like it so much, I have it in both the camel and the grey. It also happens to be 25% off right now at Bloomies! There’s also a double v-neck option on sale that’s really pretty, also in black.

also wearing: similar boots (8) // old LOFT sweater

#4. MOTHER The Weekender Flares // Speaking of favorite clothing items… I wear jeans almost every day, so I have quite a collection, but this is the most versatile pair in my closet at the moment. I love the fit and feel, and they pair so well with boots and sweaters, my go-to fall uniform. When I want to wear sneakers, I usually opt for a straight ankle style, but when I want to level up, these flares are my go-to. They aren’t on sale anywhere at the moment, but they’re eligible for Triple Points at Bloomies right now.

#5. Hotel Lobby Candle // Sydney, who helps me with content planning and strategy, introduced me to this candle, and I absolutely love it. It’s a splurge, but it lasts a long time, and it smells absolutely divine. It makes a nice gift for “the person who has everything.”

#6. Lagos Signature Caviar Small Hoops // I’ve collected a nice assortment of everyday designer jewelry that I wear on the regular, and it was hard to choose just one for this post. I finally landed on these Lagos hoops because they’re so versatile, and I’ve easily worn them more than any other pair of earrings I own since I got them earlier this year. Because they combine both gold and silver tone metals, they go with just about anything.

#7. tarte tartelette™ tubing mascara (40% off with code CYBER) // I’m not super loyal to any one mascara these days, but this is the one I use the most lately, and it’s currently 40% off with code CYBER. My lashes are already pretty long, thanks to RevitaLash, and this tubing mascara makes them look fuller and more voluminous. The trick to keep it from clumping is to apply several light coats, allowing it to dry in between each one.

#8. Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer // I couldn’t resist including this hair dryer, even though I’ve talked it to death recently. After four years, it’s still going strong, and definitely one of my best investments when it comes to hair products and tools. It’s also on a rare sale right now at Nordstrom!

#9. tarte Honeysuckle Collector’s Set // Okay, here’s a new one for you! I recently received this tarte holiday gift set from their PR department, and I LOVE IT. I’ve been using it almost exclusively for the past several weeks, and it’s such a nice palette for fall/winter. I even like the lipstick and liner, which are darker than what I usually wear, but they really seem to work, especially since I just got my hair colored a shade darker.

If you want more of a year ’round eye shadow palette, I highly recommend the tarte tartelette™ in bloom, and it is included in the 40% off promotion. I also use the lip liner in Mauve on a regular basis, if you want a nice neutral.

#10. Away The Medium Suitcase + Away Everywhere Bag // I had to include my favorite luggage set, as I’m doing more traveling than ever these days. I also have the Away Carry-On for short trips, and the Away Packing Cubes, which I use in both suitcases. I love them all. They’re such good quality, they hold a lot, and they look great too.

#11. YSL Libre Eau de Parfum Spray Fragrance // I’ve never met a YSL product that I don’t love, and this fragrance is no exception. It doesn’t hurt that it looks beautiful on my dresser, but I also really enjoy the scent.

#12. AirPods Pro // I’ve been including AirPods in my Favorite Things roundups since I started writing them because I use them every. single. day. This year, I upgraded to the AirPods Pro, with noise cancelling and adaptive transparency options, so you can hear what you want and nothing that you don’t. I especially love these for airplane travel.

I still use my regular ones here at home, but you can turn off the noise cancelling and adaptive transparency features on the Pro version, if you want to use them as regular earbuds. If you don’t care about those features, the 2nd Generation AirPods are a great price right now at Amazon.

#13. Dyson Hot & Cool Bladeless Fan & Heater // I received this from QVC for PR purposes, and I like it so much here in my office that I ordered a 2nd one for my son’s room. It has so many nice features, and it looks sleek in the room, as well.

#14. iWalk Portable Charger // This little gizmo packs a punch! I always take it with me when traveling, or when I’m going to be out of pocket for a full day, so I can be sure my iPhone doesn’t die on me. My daughter has one too. They make nice gift basket fillers and stocking stuffers.

#15. P448 John in Peony // I decided my favorite fashion sneakers needed a spot in this list! I’ve had several pairs of these over the years, but the Peony is my current favorite color way. I love the tone on tone design with metallic accents.

#16. SOMA Cool Nights Pajamas // The pajamas I’m wearing above are from the summer, but I have several pairs of the long sleeve version, and I just ordered the French Script Ivory. I would have ordered the Restful Plaid Red for the holidays, but I have a very similar pair from last year.

These make great gifts or an update to your pajama drawer, especially since they’re BOGO 50% off right now!

#17. Vuori Performance Joggers // I would be remiss not to include my favorite joggers in my favorite things list! I just got them in this new Lake Heather, which I love, although the Mahogany Heather is probably the pair I wear the most. I like having both (as well as the Black) in my workout wardrobe.

#18. Replenix Age Restore Nighttime Therapy + Revision Skincare Hydrating Serum // Yes, these are pricey, but they are what my cosmetic dermatologist and I finally landed on, after trying a few different combinations of products for my extremely dry skin. I could probably live without the serum, as the moisturizing cream is so rich and works so well, but I continue to keep it on auto-order since it’s working well for me. If you have very dry skin, I highly recommend giving these a try.

#19. Dazzle Dry Nail Laquer 4-Step System // I’ve recently switched from Gel manicures to Dazzle Dry, and I love how much easier it is on my nails. Plus, it’s faster to remove and apply… well, at least, it’s faster to remove. I’m not sure it’s much faster to apply, as it has to dry thoroughly between coats.

It holds up really well, though… last time I got three weeks out of it with only minor chipping and erosion around the ends of my nails. I get mine done at the nail salon, but I thought I’d include it here since you can purchase the kits on Amazon.

#20. Loopy Case // I love my loopy cases for holding my phone securely. It also makes it easy to carry when I’m juggling a bunch of things because it hooks over my finger. I don’t even use a screen protector on my phones because the Loopy Case makes it so secure, I rarely drop my phone. I’ve already ordered a new one for my new iPhone 15 Pro Max that arrives in just a few weeks!

I could go on and on, but 20 seems like a good round number, and I need to get on with my day! This post took a lot longer than I expected, but it was a fun one to write. I’ll be back tomorrow with a roundup of the shoes and boots I’m wearing on repeat this fall.

  1. Good list. Glad you had good time with Caroline. I can’t believe this time next year you’ll be empty nested. Has Becca decided where and what she is doing? So much to do in the Senior year. Have a good day.

  2. Great post. I ordered those Lagos hoops on your recommendation maybe about a month ago and I love them so far. They’ve definitely been on repeat and I have a LOT of earrings. Can’t wait for the shoe/boot roundup!

  3. I love dazzle dry! I do it myself at home, I love that it goes on like regular polish. My nails have been much healthier since using it (no more yellowing of the nail bed). Fyi the mini kits are great gift ideas!

  4. This is a great list ! I am going to save it and order some gifts. What size do you wear in the equipment sweater ? The grey is a really good price right now !

  5. Love the cream pullover sweater you’re wearing in this post, I can remember seeing it in a post but forgot the brand, love it. Love all the ideas.

  6. Love my Loopy case. I just got my iPhone 15 Pro Max today (earlier than scheduled), so I don’t have my case that I just ordered on Friday. Hopefully it arrives quickly!

  7. Fun to see your list! I’m frustrated with denim brands right now because for tall girls they are all too short! The only ones that I’ve found in long inseams are the wide leg flares which is fine because I wear that style now quite a bit, but anything else ends up being too short on me.

  8. I love my Dazzle Dry nail polishes! Just curious, what colors have you tried and liked? I don’t have a salon near me that uses DD so I have to order it online without seeing it in person. Some color advice would be most welcome!

  9. Can you do a full review post on the Away Everywhere Bag. I’m a tote bag gal which I know you are too. How did this compare? Did you prefer it?
