A Few Random Mentions

If you’re not seeing coffee and a handbag, you may need to clear your cache.  Yep, I’ve changed my bloggy clothes again.

I was never thrilled with the last outfit I had on.  I’ll keep it over at the design blog, I think.  But Musings just needs to have coffee and a handbag, dontcha think?

A couple questions for ya.  Can you see the coffee cup in the background?  I see it great on my iMac, but on Hubby’s laptop it is barely discernible.  Also.  The colors are pink for me and purple on the laptop.  What do you see?

To answer your questions about ordering from Boden, I had put off ordering from them because I was intimidated by trying to figure out my European size.  But I followed their American-European conversion charts, and it was bang-on.  To give you an idea, I’m usually a size 6 in pants at Banana Republic or the Loft, and a size 6 or an 8 in a skirt or dress.  According to Boden, a larger US size 6 is a European size 12, so that is what I ordered.  It fits perfectly!

Also, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality.  The skirt is fully lined, and the layering tanks are made to lay nicely when put together.  I can’t wait for warm weather so that I can, you know, WEAR my new clothes!!

One more thing.  I’ve been told by the fine folks at BlogHerAds that I am not supposed to blog about sponsored trips, which includes, well, YOU KNOW.  Never fear, I will give a full account of my trip to the world of the mouse over at my poor, neglected review blog while I’m there next month.  Meanwhile, you will be mercifully spared from my incessant yammering about trip preparations, which you probably don’t care a diddly-squat about anyway.  You’re welcome.

  1. You are a size 6? Oh my. I can’t believe I read you.

Just kidding. I didn’t see the coffee either until it was pointed out. And it’s a very light lilac for me on my Dell laptop. I think I do like this more than the flower. It seems more you.

  2. European sizing and American conversions…sounds like a good idea for a post.
My husband once ordered a leather suit (for motorcycle racing, nothing kinky) and accidently ordered from the European site. He couldn’t get it to go above his knees.

  3. I see purple and rather than a coffee cup I see what looks like a swirl of steam.
But it’s cute. How fun to change up your design whenever you please!

  4. Love the design – especially the colors. I didn’t see the coffee cup until you pointed it out though…

  5. Oh, I like it. I love the swirls in the background. I barely see a coffee cup, but am also on a laptop. Our new laptop shows the colors very muted compared to flatscreen monitor. So, maybe it is just laptops that do that.

I see light purple on the cup and a purple pink in the background.

You are a busy little bee!

  6. I love the new-ish layout! I loved the old one as well but this one seems more you! 🙂

Also, European sizes are amazing. I honestly have a hard time finding clothes that fit me well (especially pants) believe it or not. But once I found out my size in European pants, I fell in love with size 24 jeans. Yes, I’m a horrible traitor for being a 24 (smaller than 00), but I’m willing to sacrifice this and rejoice in the wonders of European sizes. 🙂

  7. I see pink and can easily make out the coffee cup, but then I am the proud owner of a MacBook Pro.

I guess all of those silly PC owners are sad now! : )

  8. I love the little arm and handbag part — but I couldn’t really tell that you had a coffee cup until you mentioned it. I have a Dell laptop as well, and it shows up light lilac for me too. Maybe if you showed the handle (or part of the handle) of the coffee cup it would look more obvious? Just a thought…

  9. The color is burgandy and I see the coffee cup and a whisp of steam.

Our one computer always shows colors slightly different than others.

Cute design. I liked the other one too though.

  10. I LOVE the new look! I had to look for the coffee cup, but I see it in the background. And the color is more of a wine than purple or pink. It looks great!

    Hope everyone is feeling better!

  11. Looks great to me!

On a different note… the “Subscribe in a Reader” button at the top of your sidebar is for your Chic Critique blog, not this one. Thought you might want to update that.

  12. I love this new design!! I can see the coffee but very faintly. And the colors on my lap top seem more red than purple, but I wouldn’t count on anything comin’ out of my old DELL! Ha!

And the Boden skirty looks great on you!

  13. Definitely more appropriate. Cute flower but…what about it?? I didn’t notice the coffee cup either, visual that I am! until you pointed it out. On my screen, it looks taupe-y mauve. Very neurtral. And the other darker colors look maroon. HTH.
