I’m the girlfriend who keeps you in the know with the

latest trends, best sales, & everyday style inspiration

for the modern woman

Hi, I’m Jo-Lynne!

I live with my husband and our three almost grown children in the suburbs of Philly. I started sharing my life and style online back when dinosaurs roamed the earth… or more specifically, March of 2006.

Over the years, my blog evolved into an everyday style destination for women wanting to look and feel their best during their midlife era.

Here I share my latest fashion and beauty finds, everyday outfits, travel experiences & much more as I work to hone my personal style and curate a wardrobe I love to wear… and I hope to inspire you to do the same!

The three words I use to describe my style personality are polished, modern, and understated. I love a good neutral, I prefer quality over quantity, and I subscribe to the theory that less is more… unless it involves pizza or my favorite cocktail.

I like to say I’m an outgoing introvert. I love to socialize, but I recharge from being alone. In my free time, I enjoy live music, good food and wine, reading historical fiction, or watching HGTV.

Thank you for following along.
I’m so glad you’re here!

FAQ

I’m 5’5″ and 140-145 pounds, depending on how much pizza I consumed over the weekend. I have a slight hourglass shape, and I usually wear a small in tops and dresses, an 8 or 29 in pants and jeans, and a size 8 shoe.

Not even close! I keep a tightly edited closet, so I’m always cycling things through. When I’m done wearing or featuring something, I donate to friends and family or send it to a local resale shop.

I work out with a personal trainer twice a week, and I recently started taking Pilates classes. I also try to walk or run a few miles every day.

My favorite stores to shop are Nordstrom and Evereve, but I have a list of all my go-to retailers on my Where I Shop page. When you shop from that page or any of the links on my blog, I may earn a commission on your purchase. I appreciate your support!

See this post for a quick tutorial about how I style my hair both curly and straight using the Dyson Corrale styling iron.

We bought this house in 2018, and we painted the walls Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray and the woodwork Dove White. The only exceptions are the dining room, where we have Hale Navy above the chair rail, and the wallpaper in the powder room.

I earn money through ads, affiliate (commission) links, and sponsored posts/brand partnerships. You can read more about that in this post.

I was a 3rd grade teacher before having my children. When they were babies, I did medical transcription, and I was a Creative Memories consultant for a time. I started blogging when my youngest was a baby, and the rest, as they say, is history!

I’m your typical all-American girl
mom next door.  I live in a rural suburb of Philadelphia — home of the Liberty Bell and the Philly cheesesteak.  I love denim, high heels, pizza, old hymns, a good cup of coffee,
colorful handbags, laughing with my kids, date nights with my husband,
pedicures, red wine, afternoon naps, and reality TV.

Before blogging took over my life, my hobbies were shopping, scrapbooking, and cooking.  And did I mention shopping?  Scrapbooking and cooking may have fallen by the wayside, but somehow I manage to tear myself away from the computer long enough to hit the mall a few times a week.

My newest obsession is blog design.  I’m having a blast with my new business.  If you’re in the  market for a bloggy makeover, please visit me at DCR Design.

I’m married to one very cute computer geek (that’s a term of endearment around here), and we have three gorgeous kids, and I’m not at all biased. Ahem.

D is our 9-year-old son. He’s all about baseball and video games.
He’s smart and sensitive like his Daddy, an all-around sweet kid.

C is our irrepressible 6-year-old daughter. She’s all about her
dolls, play-doh, princesses, and make-believe.  She’s talkative and
social like her Mama.

R is our darling 3-year-old daughter.  She’s all about snuggles and kisses and laughter.  She lights up our world.

It is my heart’s desire to honor Jesus Christ in all
that I say and do.  Although I know I fall far short, I believe His
grace is sufficient for my sanctification and salvation.  And believe you me, he has his work cut out for him!

Thanks for visiting.  If you enjoy my blog, please leave a comment.  Comments rule!
