All Black Outfit for Fall

Happy Monday, friends!!! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Today I’m partnering with Bloomingdales to style an all black outfit for fall.

I absolutely love a black on black outfit. It's so chic and sophisticated and a little mysterious -- perfect for a GNO or a date night with your honey.

This isn’t a look I do very often, but I absolutely love a black on black outfit. It’s so chic and sophisticated and a little mysterious — perfect for a GNO or a date night with your honey.

This Batwing Blouse is easy to wear, but it’s a little different from the norm and gives you endless styling possibilities. It also comes in red, blue. and white if black isn’t your thing. It’s a Bloomingdales 100% Exclusive, so you won’t find this anywhere else.

I like how this top has the appeal of a tank but offers some coverage with the sheer sleeves, and the back button keyhole is a fun little detail. For size reference, I’m wearing the small. I ordered both medium and small, and the medium fit fine, but when I tried on the small, I realized that it was more slimming. The Bloomingdales website also recommends sizing down in this top, so I’m glad I did.

I almost wore this with these distressed blue jeans, but then I decided to pair it with black jeans for an all black outfit. I can even see this with faux leather leggings, if you have somewhere to such an ensemble. As much as I love the look, I have a hard time coming up with a destination to wear leather leggings so I decided to stick to black jeans.

For fun, I wanted to try a choker necklace. The choker is a big trend this fall, and I really like it. Typically I’d wear a long necklace with an outfit like this to break up all the black, but I like how the choker draws the eye up to your face so you don’t get lost in the sea of black.

For shoes, I wanted something with a little pop, but nothing too distracting. I usually wear heels with a night-out look, but I thought these velvet d’Orsay pointed toe flats were fun and different.

I ordered my regular 8 1/2 and they fit perfectly so they seem to run TTS. I usually wear heels when I go out, but sometimes you’re in a situation where you’re doing a lot of walking, and it’s just nice to wear flats. The red is deep enough to blend into the all black outfit but stands out because it’s a pop of color in an otherwise monochromatic look.

Jazz up an all black outfit with red velvet shoes!

These are quite comfortable for a pointy toe flat, and I love that they’re fun and a bit unexpected yet still practical. I’m sure I’ll be wearing them a lot this holiday season.

LOVE these Sam Edelman Reema Velvet d'Orsay Pointed Toe Flats! Perfect for holiday style.

This outfit is easy to throw on and go, but it’s special enough to wear for a night out on the town with your honey or your best girls.

  1. Love the shoes with that outfit! It sounds like we could have rain most of the day. My 3yo was asking to go outside before I even made it out of bed.

  2. Good Morning Jo-Lynne, We also need the rain in GA, but aren’t getting enough of it. We just have to accept what the good Lord gives us. This outfit is stunning, and looks fabulous on you, all the way down to the toes.
It looks like I am going to need to be in an ankle brace for some time, which means wearing athletic shoes, so I am thinking of various techniques to draw everyone’s eyes up, with the hope that my shoes don’t completely ruin an outfit. I think getting some choker necklaces, wearing jazzy earrings, etc., will help. But my mind keeps telling me that the athletic shoes will ruin whatever outfit I create. Gotta get over that!

    Have a blessed day!

  3. Since I have a long neck and I wore chokers in the late 60’s, early 70’s, I Iove them. Love the spark of colored shoes!

  4. Really love the look! Just wondering if you would share how you did your hair for this look? I like the loose wave look and am trying different ways to achieve it.

  5. love this look. i like to wear all black occassionally, but never thought about shoes this color. I rather have some heels than flats but the color contrast is great. thanks for the idea.

  6. Love this look. Especially the flats. I love a pointy toe, even on my size 10 feet! And the red! I may need those shoes. A question about the blouse: is there elastic on the bottom or did you just tuck it in? I couldn’t tell on the Bloomingdale’s site either.

    1. Yes, there is elastic at the bottom. 🙂 And I think pointy toe shoes are always attractive, even on larger feet. I try to remember when I look down on them that no one else is seeing them from that angle. 🙂

  7. We had a pretty good downpour sometime in the wee hours of the morning. This Grammy was PRAYING that all the grandkids slept through the little bit of thunder & lightning we had. Last night was sleepover night for our grandkids, 7,5, 3, & 8 months, as we volunteered to babysit so our 2 adult daughters & spouses could attend a music festival featuring Neil Young & Willie Nelson. It’s not often they come to our neck of the woods near Scranton, PA! With all that being said, I love, love this outfit. I’m not a real big fan of wearing black & black, even though its so classy looking. But this look really caught my eye, with how you put it all together! Really stunning, and those shoes, perfect! I love those early mornings you mentioned, just me, a coffee & doing my morning devotional. Except this morning,….. when the baby woke up early, and in the midst of me trying to wrestle him to get his clothes & soaking wet diaper changed, he woke the other 3 up……remember those days?? Well mine are back again for a while!! I think there will be wine for supper tonight! ????????

  8. I like the jeans and shoes very cute. The shirt is gives you the shape of an ice cream cone(not flattering) small on bottom large on top. Your hair looks awesome.
