Amazon Beauty Favorites

With every new season, I like to refresh my beauty routine — try some new things and rediscover old favorites. Amazon Beauty has a wide selection of name brands, and most ship free with Prime, so I thought I’d round up some of my favorites for you today, in case you’re looking for some new items to try.

Besides their fast and free shipping and one-stop shopping, I like buying beauty products on Amazon because I can use Subscribe & Save on my favorites that I use over and over. Not only do I never forget to re-order and find myself without my holy grail products, but it saves me 5-15% on every order. Hey, every little bit helps!

Amazon Beauty Favorites

one // This is a great little travel makeup case. It holds so much and keeps it all organized. I’ve since replaced it with the Tumi version, which is on sale at Bloomies in a few colors. I like that it’s a little more compact, and it has the removable zipper pouch, but if that’s out of budget, the Amazon version is a really good value.

two // If you pencil in your brows, this is the best, most precise eyebrow pencil I’ve ever tried. I love that it has the brush on the other end, and it’s retractable so you never have to sharpen it. I have this on Subscribe & Save so I never run out.

three // I’ve been using this as my daytime moisturizer for years. The price is great, and it’s very gentle on the skin. It can double as my nighttime moisturizer when I travel during the warmer months, to cut down on the amount of different products I have to bring, but it’s not rich enough for my dry skin in the wintertime. I buy the PM version for morning use because I prefer to buy my a mineral sunscreen separately (see #6).

four // I love this fresh-smelling citrus lavender body scrub. It’s a certified organic product that uses Vitamin E, Organic Sucrose, and Organic Marula Oil to moisturize while it sloughs away all your dry, dead skin.

I also enjoy supporting the family-owned business out of Dallas, TX, and I appreciate that the products are made in the USA. (By the way, their bath bombs would make a great gift!)

five // I like to get microderm at the spa, but in between visits, I use this Schick Hydro Silk exfoliating dermaplaning tool to keep my skin smooth and fuzz-free.

six // I’ve been using this tinted sunscreen every morning for well over a year… maybe two, at this point. I lose track. It was originally recommended by my dermatologist, and now I have it on auto-order at Amazon so I can save 15%.

It’s formulated to protect from and repair signs of photoaging, and I love the consistency and that it’s a mineral sunscreen, so very gentle to the skin. The light tint helps with color correction and eliminates any white cast from the mineral ingredients.

seven // These are my favorite hair bands. They’re gentle and stretchy and unobtrusive, and they come in lots of color options.

eight // I first purchased this hydrating serum at the recommendation of my cosmetic dermatologist, and I was so happy to find it on Amazon and available for Subscribe & Save. My skin gets verrrry dry in the wintertime, so I use this under my night cream for extra moisture.

nine // And this is the night cream that I referred to above. It was also recommended by my dermatologist and now part of my Amazon Subscribe & Save.

It’s very rich and creamy, and it soaks easily into my skin and doesn’t leave any greasy residue. It doesn’t have any noticeable scent either, which is nice. I’ve been using it for a couple of years, now, and whenever I try other night creams, I always come back to this one.

ten // I swear by this lash growth serum for lengthening and thickening my lashes.

eleven // This lip mask is another one of my tried and true beauty products. I apply it every night to keep my lips from getting dry and peeling, and sometimes I use it during the day as well.

twelve // These are the best tweezers, so precise, and they stay sharp for years. I’ve lost track of how long I’ve had mine.

thirteen // This cuticle oil saved my nails after I wrecked them getting cheap gel manicures. That was many years ago, but now I’m able to keep gel polish on my nails almost constantly, with a gentle nail tech and nightly use of this CND SolarOil.

  1. Hi,
Glad you are almost recovered and feeling almost back to normal’ Can you or your followers recommend a clear eyebrow gel and an eyebrow pencil that sharpens? I love Mary Kay skin care/cosmetics but we don’t carry those two products in that style/color.
    Thanks!

  2. Great list! I use several of the items. With pale, freckled skin, I’ve always worn sunscreen under my makeup. I’ve been using Elta MD for years because I can wear it with or without makeup. I really like the tinted version and often wear it on days when I don’t wear foundation. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen, doesn’t irritate my skin, and isn’t nearly as drying as many similar products. Highly recommend!

  3. Jo-Lynne,

I was wondering how the Eileen Fisher dress sizes run and if it would be appropriate to wear for a wedding? I have always liked the dress you have styled on the blog.

  4. ordering the Elta today, sounds good to me as I don’t like to wear foundation but on occasion. I ordered the CND oil and the nail polish in the Cajun Shrimp and really like how the CND oil makes my nails feel, I have a lot of issues with my brittle nails and the cuticles even after using Nail Aid Keritan polish.

  5. Great article. I have put one of the moisturizers on auto delivery, based on your suggestion. A question, regarding your make up bag, when traveling, do you put it in your big bag, or carry it separately? I am trying to reduce the number of bags I carry when traveling, but struggle with the make up bag, should I carry it separately, or force it to fit into the overnight bag. Thanks for any suggestions. Have a blessed week, and blessed holiday.

      1. Same! I’d add that if in your suitcase, it will be more likely to have things break when the suitcase gets tossed around. I once heard a pilot say to pack “light and tight”. Since then I’ve changed how I pack my makeup and toiletries. Instead of in a bigger pouch with room to rummage, I pack them tightly in the smallest pouch they’ll fit in. Then I wedge that between stacks of clothes. Have not had anything break since!

  6. After years of trying numerous nail & cuticle oils, I got a recommendation from my dermatologist – Elon Nail Cream. My nails have never been better and less messy than an oil product when traveling.

  7. Amazon delivery is free which I appreciate, shipping is NOT fast. Amazon contracted with USPS and they are not efficient and seem to be overwhelmed!

  8. I use a few of these products myself, I love the makeup bag, because I’m an over packer and need to take everything this fits all of the things. I put the Cerave face moisturizer In my cart, I’ve used their body cream ( from the advise of my dermatologist) for years and love it. Also going to try the cuticle oil. You recommended the Revitalash on one of your posts a couple of years ago and I’ve been using it ever since, it works so well!
Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

  9. I just received the cuticle oil to try. Have only used it a few times but it’s already helping soften and helping the painful cracks I’ve been getting. I still use the first mineral sunscreen you use to use. Have a good photo shoot. The outfit you wore to the theatre was great. I would love to see that production. Loved the movie.

  10. Do you use foundation under your tinted sunscreen? Or do you use just the sunscreen with no foundation? My CC cream has SPF 30, but I was looking for something more. I really enjoy the information in your blogs. Thank you so much!

    1. Foundation goes over the tinted sunscreen. My foundation is SPF 20, but from what I’ve read (this article is a good one), most women don’t use enough foundation to get adequate protectio. I apply the tinted sunscreen quite liberally to my face, give it a few minutes to soak in, and then apply the foundation and the rest of my makeup. Hope that helps!
