Balloon Sleeve Sweater + BR Friends & Family Picks

I’ve styled a few layered looks recently, but today I’m back in my my comfort zone with a simple pullover sweater and jeans. As far as I’m concerned, nothing is more comfortable.

Layers have a way of bunching up and getting all janky, and it takes time and effort to get them to lay just right, but a pullover is so easy. Just throw it on and go!

I found this relaxed balloon-sleeve sweater at Banana Republic, and today is the start of their Friends & Family Event, so it’s 50% off with code BRFAMILY. Also, shipping is free on orders over $100 with code BRSHIP. Be sure to use both codes!

This sweater has a short body length, perfect for pairing with mid and high-rise jeans.

It’s also a sustainable pick because it’s made with a blend of warm wool, soft alpaca, and eco-friendly recycled polyester which was sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles.

The balloon sleeves are on trend, and I like the shape. They don’t add too much extra volume. I love the pink, but this sweater also comes in black, green, beige. It runs true to size; I’m in the small.

These jeans are the KUT from the Kloth button fly ankle skinnies from the #NSale. I was happy to see that they’ve been restocked because they’re really good.

I’ve worn them a few times, and I’m always impressed with the flattering fit and quality of the wash. I think they look more expensive than they are.

These jeans have a 27″ inseam and a 10 1/4″ front rise, and they run true to size; I have them in the 6.

I’m always a fan of grey with pink, and it also pairs nicely with mid-wash blue jeans, so I wore grey suede ankle boots.

My Jeffrey Campbell boots are from last year, but this pair is very similar. They’re extremely comfortable, well padded, and leather lined.

And to answer your question before you ask, no, I do not wear socks with these booties.

I didn’t feel like a necklace would play nicely with this high ribbed neckline, so I wore large earrings instead.

These square circle earrings are from Ann Taylor, and I like how the polished silver pops against the pink sweater and my dark hair. They’re 40% off with code FRIENDS.

I didn’t wear a bracelet either because of the sleeves.

This simple look is pretty much what I live in during the fall and winter. It’s so easy, yet pretty and comfortable too.

  1. That sweater is super cute and I love the outfit! Would you say the pink as shown in your post is the true color? The pink on the BR website appears warmer – more of a pale coral.

    1. I just went and grabbed it to compare, and I’d say it’s closer to the color shown on the website. It’s not really warm, though. Definitely not coral, but it’s a little more brown than shown here.

  2. Very pretty outfit , your jeans fit perfectly !
Any suggestions from your petite readers on who has a flattering , raw hem jean similar to the ones your wearing in the post,  for the under 5’3 crowd 😊
    Thank you !

  3. I love this look. Such a pretty color of sweater. Can you tell me, is the sweater easy to pull over the head, or is it tight? If sweaters are really tight at the neckline, I end up not wearing them.

      1. Thanks! That’s all I needed to know!

Even though it’s still hot where I live, it’s fun to have something new that I can look forward to wearing when it’s cooler.

  4. Love this outfit! I’m looking forward to cooler Texas weather. I would love to see a feature on boots this fall as I think some of mine need to be replaced this year.
