I Might Be Breaking Up With My Mascara

I’m always vocal about how much I adore my Lancome mascara. I’ve been loyal to the brand since I was in high school. That’s a LONG TIME, people! I’m not even sure I can do the math without a calculator.

But I’ve found a mascara that might just get me to break up with my longtime mascara boyfriend.

I got a sample of Benefit They’re Real! Mascara in my latest Glossybox, and this stuff is AMAZING.

It separates and lengthens like nothing I’ve ever seen. The secret is in the wand.

Here’s how they describe it:

Application tips: First, go horizontal. The staggered bristles grab close to the root of your lashes, boosting length and volume. Then go vertical. The custom-domed tip with precision bristles lift, define, and curl even your tiniest lashes.

This stuff is truly amazing, and it lasts all day. On the way home from Seattle, I wore my favorite Lancome Hypnose Drama on my left eye and my new Benefit They’re Real! on my right. Both lasted through an entire day of airline travel, which is a feat in and of itself. But the Benefit kept my lashes separated, whereas the Lancome tends to get a bit clumpy. I do think the Lancome mascara makes my lashes seem a but fuller and thicker, but the Benefit makes them look longer and more separated.

I have tried on two separate occasions to get a decent picture, but they weren’t very good. You’ll just have to trust me on this one!
