Best of Beauty | Curel Intensive Healing

I have mentioned many times that I have the skin of a lizard. It is so terribly dry. One of the reasons I love summer so much is that I get a delightful reprieve from the itchy, flaky, scaly dry skin that plagues me during nine months of the year.

Even with the HINT of fall in the air lately, I’ve noticed my skin already beginning to feel itchy and dry. I can’t believe it’s already time to ramp up the moisture and get more consistent about applying lotion every day.

Enter Curél® Intensive Healing Cream.

The folks at Curel sent me a free full-sized container of Curél Intensive Healing Cream to try in exchange for my honest opinions.

Let me first say, I’ve been buying Curél lotions for years; I currently use their Ultra Healing lotion. I love how it goes on smoothly and easily without a greasy residue, and the scent is mild and pleasant. So I was already a fan of the brand. I was thrilled to hear that they were adding a richer cream to their product line, and I was eager to try it.

This product is definitely different than the Curél lotions I’ve used in the past. It goes on very thick and takes a while to rub in. It’s definitely not the product you want to use when you’re in a rush and you just want to slather something on real quick to cover up your flaky legs.

However, it works great on my dry skin. I have been making a little extra time every morning to apply the cream to my entire body. It goes on thick and soaks in without leaving greasy residue. The scent is very mild — almost unnoticeable, which is a plus in my book. I detest heavily perfumed lotions because they make my head hurt, and I don’t want anything to compete with my perfume.

It does take a while to rub in, but it seems to last longer than the regular lotion, and it feels richer and creamier. My and arms are moist and soft for  hours after applying it. I’ll definitely keep my regular lotion on hand for quick applications, but I’m happy to add this Intensive Healing Cream to my arsenal of skin moisturizing products.

  1. I’ll have to try this. I’ve dealt with moderate to severe eczema my whole life and the winter months are the worst. It’s always been hard for me to find a thicker cream that doesn’t leave me greasy. 🙂

  2. I get horrible dry, cracked hands every winter. I’m always looking for the best lotion/cream to help with this (and have only found one that actually does anything to help). I’ll give this a try this year.

  3. My mom is 90 yrs old and has terribly dry skin. She is convinced there must be a product on the market that will change that; I think it may just be aging skin. We’ll try the Curel Intensive Healing Cream and let you know. It will be a great endorsement if it works!

  4. I notice that the ingredients on the Intensive Healing Cream and Lotion are the same. Is the amount of water used the only difference?

  5. I was given a sample by my husband’s Dermatologist’s nurse. I usually put samples of all sorts in the guest bathroom. This time I was traveling and thought it the right size to take. It is thicker and harder to apply but I didn’t have anything else. On the third day I was pushing my hair from my face and thought Wow I have never felt my skin so smooth. Now I’m online looking to buy it and I’m very delighted with the price.

  6. Hello,
I am wondering if I can use this product on my face or is it just for other parts of the body? I also have sensitive skin.

    thanks

      1. Just as Anna said, I have dealt with moderate to severe eczema most of my like and nine months out of the year I will try just about anything. I receive samples all the time but they are usually reserved for whatever purse i have at the time. Later that day I applied this to my back after a shower because my back and arms are the worse and I could feel the difference almost immediately. To me it has about the consistancy of Eucerin lotion and after using it on my face, I received no irritation and I have highly sensitive skin.

  7. This cream is awesome! I’m 63 and my hands were beginning to show it. After the first application, I could see a difference. I used it also, after showering. I love this cream!!!! Totally recommend it! I have posted on my facebook page – how it has changed my skin!

  8. I love this cream. I live in a state where the climate tends to be really dry and hrase on this skin and the Curel Intensive Healing Cream really gets the job done. I have tried a lot of products to prove my overall skin care and this product is the only one that i have seen really good results with. I use this cream every day.
