You really need to read no further than the title to realize that this post is a lot of rambling with a few interesting tidbits thrown in for good measure.
But humor me and read along, would you please?
So it’s like 80 and overcast and humid today in Philly. ICK. I still don’t have my air conditioning on. I am reveling in the warmth, even if it is sticky.
I went to the mall this morning. That’s always a dangerous place for me to be. I found some jeans made JUST LIKE the ones I posted yesterday, but for twice the price. They fit great, but my dear husband will be happy to know I left them on the rack. For that price, I could feed half the nation of Uganda.
After my mall run, I met my friend and fellow blogger, Mainline Mom, for lunch. We chatted while the kids played.
In other news, I’m figuring out yet ANOTHER social media site — Adoptic.
If you look at my left sidebar, you will see a box at the very
bottom that has a snippet from someone else’s blog. That’s my Adoptic widget. Click on it, and it will
take you to that post.
Likewise, snippets from some of my posts appear on other blogs. I choose on which blogs my snippets may appear, and I also can
choose which posts of mine are displayed on other blogs in the
network. Basically, it’s a great way to promote your blog! Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll send you an invite.
And speaking of bloggy stuff, did you know that earlier this week, I embarrassed myself by posting pictures of my bare nekkid face and all my git-ready stuff over on Chic Critique? (I can never refer to my makeup without thinking of the time, back in college, when I was visiting with my best friend from high school, and she had this GI-normous suitcase full of cosmetics and related paraphernalia. I asked her what on earth it was, and she said in her endearing southern accent, "It’s my git ready stuff." From then on, my makeup and toiletries have been referred to as my git ready stuff.)
Any-WHO, Megan blogged her face last week, and I thought it was so cool to see her transformation that I would have to do one myself.
And then she came up with the clever idea of holding a carnival where we challenge YOU to blog YOUR face and link up with our favorite party host, Mr. Linky. Megan even got a cute little gift that we can bestow on a random participant!
Won’t you consider joining us in our
humiliation fun? Don’t worry, you don’t have to take a gazillion bajillion pictures like we did. Before and after will suffice. You wouldn’t let us down in our time of need, would you?
Okay, I better stop procrastinating and go finish up the design job I started last night. Then perhaps I’ll tackle that writing assignment that is beckoning. I don’t know what it is, I just can’t get motivated to START. Once I start, I work till it’s done. But the STARTING is what overwhelms me.
Hm. I think I hear the phone ringing. Saved by the bell…
