Caged Wedge Sandals #PaylessforStyle

Today Cyndi and I are wrapping up our 27 Days of Spring Fashion style series! This has been a fun one. I feel like I’m finally getting the hang of this fashion blogging thing!

The perfect casual spring outfit: Black Dolman with Light Wash Skinnies and Caged Wedge Sandals from @officialpayless

For the final outfit in our spring style series, I’m styling the Noah High-Wedge Sandal from Payless.

These caged wedge sandals are incredibly comfortable. They have an ankle zip for easy on/easy off, smooth lining, padded footbed, and a 3½-inch woven wedge with a 1-inch platform. The designer did a great job with that smooth interior lining. Nowhere do these rub or aggravate my feet, and the 2½-inch heel drop is perfect for walking comfortably.

I styled these sassy shoes with a simple black top and blue jeans. This is an outfit that will take me many places this spring and summer.

Accessorize for Spring with a statement ring and straw clutch

The Dolman Jetsetter Tee is from White House Black Market, and it’s currently on sale for $29. (It also comes in yellow, whitecharcoal, blush, and this pretty white/taupe stripe

I am a sucker for a dolman sleeve, and I particularly like the flattering V-neck and the slimming seams down the front and back. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The jeans are my DL1961 Emma skinnies. I love how versatile these are. I often wear them full-length, but for this outfit I created a wide cuff to allow the shoes to shine.

I carried this metallis raffia clutch from Stella & Dot because I like how it coordinates with the woven platform wedge. The necklace and ring are also from Stella & Dot.

Here’s one last closeup of the shoes. I love the contrast of the woven platform against the black straps. Best of all, they’re only $34.99, and Payless is currently running a BOGO 50% off sale! They have a great selection of spring and summer shoes right now. If you need other ideas, you can see my last two partnership with Payless HERE and HERE.

  1. Great outfit! I admire that you are willing to keep it real and post killer outfits as well as ones that you’re still tweaking. Kudos to putting yourself out there!!

    1. Oh, darn. I meant to include that in the post. I always forget. The fingernails are one coat CND Romantique over one coat CND Cake Pop. That is one of my go-to color combos. It’s natural but very pretty. I’m not sure what color I had on my toes, sorry!! I don’t usually wear that shade of pink but I had a nail that broke and I wanted something that wouldn’t call attention. LOL.

  2. You look great! You have helped me come up with many outfits combining a variety of price points. I love your style and have referenced you as a guide for my stitch fix’s. Thank you for your work.

  3. You wowed us today just like I knew you would! That outfit looks great on you and it’s very flattering. I love the clutch and how it breaks up the black and coordinates so nicely with the sandals. Thanks for another great series.

  4. Simple, smart, styling’ !

LOVED this month of style! You (and Cyndi) have really given me great ideas.

I’ve always considered myself fashion-impaired…no sense for outfits at all…occasionally I get lucky.

Been following you lately and I’m starting to feel a little more confident. Just a few small changes have really helped.

(I still have to get over my loathing for pants shopping, lol)… so KEEP POSTING!!!! I’m learning 🙂

  5. Black on top with blue jeans is always a winner for me, and you keep taking it to another level for us! Thanks for putting yourself out there, as well as the little extra comments about each outfit. My skin would be too thin to do what you do!!????

  6. Love your outfit, especially those shoes! Thanks for doing the Spring Fashion series. It’s been fun to see your outfits. 🙂

  7. Of course I love the shoes (being a shoe girl and a Payless lover), but I must comment about how you’ve shown in these pictures the advantage of skinnines. I keep reading that they are on their way out of style, but I think you show here how versatile they can be. It’s so easy to roll them up to different heights without looking funny—and thus showing off your cute shoes!!

    ps…love the backdrop!!

  8. Jo-Lynne, I agree with the other ladies – you look awesome in this outfit! And like you, I love the scenery. Do you feel like those wedge sandals support your ankles? I would really like to buy them, but I have very weak ankles, so I do have to be cautious.

I have really enjoyed the Spring fashion series. You and Cyndi have given me great ideas.

    God bless!

    1. Ginger, I have knee, and ankle issues. I bought these wedges and absolutely love them! They are SO comfortable, and support my ankles well. The foot bed is padded well.
      I hope this helps! 🙂

  9. What a cute outfit! I must go and check out the shoes from Payless. I like them because the wedge isn’t so high.
You ladies did an awesome job with the Spring series. I can’t believe it’s over!

  10. Very cute outfit! You look fantastic! I am a sucker for black and denim.
Have you tried the bootcut/flare crops? I think they would be very cute on you. I also think you could rock a boyfriend jean as well.

  11. Lovin’ this simple and elegant outfit! This indeed can be worn for many occasions! I have put the wedges into my cart since I am on the hunt to replace the black wedges that broke last year. Thanks for the tip.:-)

  12. I love this outfit! The scenery is beautiful, and so are you! You and Cyndi did a great job with your spring series. I’m sad it’s over, but my budget will appreciate it. Ha!

  13. I have enjoyed this Spring series. You do a great job of taking something simple and dressing it up, making it look nice, accessorizing it just right. It is great to see that and get some good ideas.

  14. Perfect in every way!!!

(That top might just be perfect with your blush jeans, plus those shoes…).

  15. Thanks for the fabulous series! Reading Your posts are a part of my morning ritual w/ a cup of joe! Thanks also for going “out on a limb” when trying different outfits!

  16. LOVED this series and LOVE your blog. I think it’s great you keep it real and post outfits you aren’t sure about once in awhile. I appreciate that you are just another mom trying to figure it all out right along with us! Bless you!!!

  17. Big thank you!
    Love you’re laid back style!
You rock exercise clothes and inspire me to
Up my junky tees and sweat pants!

  18. I just started following your blog b/c I am busy w/ 3 kiddos, living in the Philly ‘burbs, need new clothes, but don’t have much time for shopping & am similarly slightly short-waisted & like v-necks & scoop neck tops. Just wondering what size top you order from White House/Black Market? Do you always do regular sizes, or do you order petite tops? I often have to get petite tops & jackets at certain stores. Don’t think I’ll get to the mall anytime soon, so would appreciate sizing advice to avoid ordering way too many items and having to take back. I am 5’5, longer legs, so can’t do petite bottoms (but will get petite maxi dresses). Sorry if you already answered these questions…no time to explore the archives!

    1. Hi Lori! No, I haven’t really addressed that question before. 🙂 I don’t buy petites ever. I tried them in the past, and they never seemed to work. I am short waisted, but they still never lay right. I buy regulars at WHBM but I do tend to go back and forth between mediums and smalls, depending on the top. I can often wear a small there. I will order both sometimes, if I’m not sure. In this top, I like the medium b/c I wouldn’t want it to be clingy, and if it shrinks at all, I have some wiggle room. 🙂 I hope that helps!

  19. JoLynne-you are hilarious….”getting this fashion blogging thing down”…..you rock it, Girl. Love those pants. I might have to try them out when my favorite skinnys wear out. This series has been a blast! Will you do another one in summer??? I hope so! How will I know what to wear each day? ;p

    Have a blessed day!!!!
    xx-S

  20. This is a great outfit that anyone can replicate! I also am really liking the location for this photo shoot. This was the perfect location for this particular outfit!

And since you’re asking for ideas—I always like the series where the same 9 clothing items are worn in different combinations. I don’t know if you’ve done those (I know Cyndi has). I think it would be neat for you to choose a pair of pants or a shirt and style it all week different ways. I love learning new possibilities and combinations for the things I have in my closet.

  21. Bought these two weeks ago. Just wore them in Vegas on a girls trip–walking to and from casinos–then into the night dancing. I was the only one of the 5 of us who did not have blisters and sore feet the next morning! And we’re all in our late 40s early 50s. Go Payless!

  22. Jo-lynne, once again trying to catch up on your blogs…ha…I hate to see the spring fashion series with Cyndi end. I hope you two do one for summer! I so enjoy and look forward to what you both are styling and chatting about from day to day. I love today’s look and those sandals are too cute! I’ve only been following your blog, as well as Cyndi’s since Christmas break, but you’ve definitely helped me dress out of my comfort zone, especially with skinny jeans and converse…ha! Keep up the fabulous job!

  23. Perfection from head to toe starting with amazing shows and finishing with gorgeous hair and accessorized to perfection
