Monday Mingle: Casual Mom On The Go Outfit

Good Monday morning! I know most people dread Mondays, but I love them. I feel like I’ve been given a blank slate, and I have the whole week ahead of me to make of it what I will. Right now it’s 6AM, and I’ve been up for an hour and I’m on my second cup of coffee. These are the golden hours, I’m telling ya!

Today I’m the guest host for Monday Mingle, a style collab with three of my favorite fashion bloggers. I want to show you how easy it is to elevate a basic t-shirt and jeans into a cute outfit for the mom on the go. Unless you work in an office environment, most of us don’t need to be dressed to the nines every day. A t-shirt and jeans will usually suffice, but it doesn’t have to look sloppy. Here’s my version.

Start by trading in your solid t-shirt for a graphic tee. Graphic tees are trendy right now, and they’re a fun way to express your personality. I love this burnout style tee with the Ramones graphic. Regular readers have seen this before. The relaxed fit and fun graphic make it my go-to t-shirt right now. My husband shakes his head in dismay every time I wear it, but I actually have some of their music on my playlist, so I say I’m legit. (LOL!!!)

Every woman needs at least one great pair of jeans that can take her from the school pickup line to lunch with the girls to date night with the hubs. Boyfriend jeans are all the rage right now, but I’m sticking to my skinnies. Wear whatever looks best on you and what you feel good in (as long as they’re not the dreaded mom jeans!)

Save your running shoes for the gym, and invest in a cute pair of fashion sneakers. I love these pink Pumas because not only are they stylish, but they are super comfy. Bonus for me: my foot brace fits inside them so I can protect my torn tendon and still look cute.

Add a pair of earrings and a bracelet, and you’re good to go! I also love the contrast of my yellow nail polish against the grey and denim. Lately I’ve been getting my nails done regularly, and it definitely helps me feel more put together and “finished”.

This is my version of a basic t-shirt and jeans. It takes no more time to throw on this outfit than it does to throw on a plain tee, mom jeans, and your running shoes, but you’ll feel stylish and put together for whatever your Monday holds.

  1. Such great tips! After being dressed up all week at work (and on Sunday at church), I struggle with “casual”. Thanks for breaking it down!

  2. Those pink Pumas are so cute! I’ve been hesitant to jump on the fashion-sneakers-as-casual-wear trend. I might have to reconsider with pink sneaks.

Thanks for co-hosting the Monday Mingle!

  3. Thank you for showing us clothing that is priced reasonably! Some of the other blogs each outfit is $500 plus. I don’t know many women that can pay that!

  4. What a fun look! That anchor bracelet is awesome! My son is in the Navy, and I am always looking for things for myself to remind me of his service and devotion. Miss him terribly.
