Coffee Talk 03.03.19

Greetings and good morning! I hope you all are having a great weekend.

We’ve had a weekend of birthday celebrations, as Paul turned 50 on Friday. My son was able to come home from college for the weekend, and we had a small family party on Friday night. Then last night we celebrated with some friends. All of my pictures have a bunch of other people and their kids in them, so I won’t share them here, but I’m glad I thought to take a few so we have them for our family album.

I try to put together a photo book every year with our family pictures, but I still haven’t done 2018 yet. I need to get on that!!! I loved Apple photo books, but they’ve since discontinued that service, and I haven’t found another one I like as well, so I keep procrastinating.

This week is going to be a whirlwind because I’ve got a lot to do before I leave for Disney World on Wednesday. The girls and I are meeting my parents down there for a few days, and I am more than ready! This trip is purely for vacation, and I don’t remember the last time I went anywhere and didn’t have to pack outfits to shoot for the blog.

Actually, I take that back. I also did that when I went to Maine in January, and it was wonderful.

While I’d love to get a chance to shoot some spring looks in warm weather, and Orlando should definitely provide that this week, I didn’t want to take that time away from my family. A Disney vacation is hectic enough without having to fit in a photo shoot, so I’m just going to deal with whatever the weather has for me here when I get back and focus all of my time in Florida on making memories with my parents and the girls.

I will still get pictures of my daily outfits, though. My 16 year old is always happy to take an iPhone shot for me, so I’ll share those on Instagram as we go and then do a recap here on the blog when I get back.

I still have no idea what I’m wearing and packing. I was waiting for the trip to get closer to see what the weather is going to be like, since it can go either way this time of year in Orlando. It looks like it’s going to be quite warm, so I do need to get out some shorts and lighter tops. I guess that’s what I’ll be working on this afternoon!

I also have a special Facebook Live for you this week — I’m doing a hair curling tutorial with L’ange, so that will be a little different, but I’ve had some questions about how I curl my hair and I figured this would be a good opportunity to demo that.

In addition to all that, we’re meeting my in-laws for dinner tomorrow night, and I have an appointment to pick up my new eyeglasses and a followup on the new contacts I’m trying out, so I have a full couple of days before I can head to Florida!

It’s all good, though. I’ve got quite a few blog posts prepped already for the upcoming week, and packing shouldn’t take long without photo shoots to think about, so I’m sure I can get it all done without stressing out too much.

Of course, the girls are pretty excited too. (My son declined the offer to come with, so my husband decided to stay back as well. Neither are big Disney fans, go figure!)

When I get back, my son will be home for his Spring Break, so it will be nice to have him around for a little bit.

So yeah, that’s the latest! I was thinking I’d also share some of my recent try-ons or what I’ve worn this week, but this is getting long and I’m running out of time so I’ll save those for next week.

P.S. The Shopbop Sale has been extended one more day! If you missed it, you can see all my top picks HERE and I have a bunch of try-ons saved to my highlight reel on Instagram.

I hope y’all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. Have you tried Shutterfly for photo albums? I haven’t been on there for a while, but I really liked it when my kids were smaller. I don’t know if it’s similar to what you used before. Just a suggestion…

  2. Hi Jolynne,
It’s been hot here in Orlando. However, Monday it’s raining and bringing a cool front!!  It looks like the rest of the week will be beautiful and be in the low 80’s. My son is in a soccer tournament at Disney Friday night. I would jump out of my skin if I met you. I look forward to your daily emails and coffee. I feel like it’s a friend emailing me daily. Lol. Anyway, Happy Birthday to your husband, enjoy your trip to Disney with your parents and girls. Have a great Sunday!

  3. It sounds like this weekend has been full of family time, which is awesome.  I bet your girls are excited about the Disney trip.  My first trip there was actually a business trip, doing a site search for a big departmentmental panel meeting.  I do hope y’all have good weather!  I envision you being a fast pro packer.  Have a great day!

  4. I bought the black Loft blouse; it’s so pretty and I loved how you showed it with the white jeans. I’d hoped to wear it to church this morning, but our weather has turned very cold & rainy. I do hope you’ll post your try on haul to the blog later; I’m not on Instagram but do enjoy seeing those. Have a wonderful time with your family at Disney!

  5. Oh have a great trip and yes how nice to not have to be packing for a photo shoot… it’s nice to just be in the moment:)

  6. Forget about your job while there and just enjoy your family. We tend to get caught up in the day to day busyness of life and forget to just be present.
    Safe travels!

  7. Thank you for your daily email also a very Happy Birthday to your husband! If you’re looking for suggestions on future posts….I would love to hear a review on Colleen Rothchilds products. I would also like to hear about your experiences with doing the online consignment thing (maybe a q and a question). I’m really tempted to try but don’t know where to start. maybe this all could be an
April thing or on your Facebook Llive, I realize you are quite busy with 26 Days of Spring Fashion. Thanks again for all your posts and have fun in Disney.

  8. I had to chuckle over your last few posts! We celebrated my husbands birthday this weekend too, and I baked him his favorite chocolate cake….I saved your recipe for future reference! I hope you have a magical Disney vacation…my husband will not go to Disney, so my daughter and I were planning to go, and I asked my son (20, sophomore in college) if he wanted to join us over his spring break, and he said aaahh…no. Guess it’s a guy thing, haha. Enjoy!

  9. I don’t know how long you will be at Disney, but it’s going to be cold ( for Florida standards) on Wednesday. High of 63, low if 43.  Thursday and Friday will be perfect, and the weekend will be hot…in the 80’s.
    Have so much fun!

  10. I also make an Apple photo book for my family every year.  I worked for months on the last one to give my daughters this Christmas (I’m only on 2015-2016 LOL) and when I went to order it found out that IPhoto wasn’t offering the photo book service any more.  In a  panic I called Apple and they showed me how to save what I had worked on and then send the my book to the same company that Apple had been using.  Anyways, if you want to continue with the same company printing your photo books, it is Mimeo Photos at https://import.mimeophotos.com

  11. Have a great time on your trip! This winter (where I am) has seemed really long and cold, so getting away somewhere warm will be nice! We actually found out that we had 28 days below seasonal temps in February and that it hasn’t been this cold in Calgary since the 1920’s! Ahhhh! I am really looking forward to spring! 🙂

  12. Check out the Project Life app for creating scrapbook pages. You can do it right on your phone! Then you can order albums through the app or choose a different printer. I use Adoramapix for our family yearbook because the quality is amazing. I just use Shutterfly for our Disney and other travel albums. Enjoy Disney. I’m counting down the days to my trip to Disneyland Paris in May!!

  13. You need to try the Project Life App.  Game changer!!! You will love it! You can make pages for photo books, cards, Christmas cards and all of it can be printed directly from the app.  The best part is it is with you all the time on your iPhone or iPad.
