Coffee Talk + Adore Your Wardrobe Registration is OPEN!

Good morning, friends! I’m doing my best not to start out this post with a weather report, but it really is almost laughable by now. It is yet. another. rainy. Sunday.

I think we should ditch our plans to move a few miles away and start looking at homes in the Pacific northwest. They’ve probably had more sunny days this spring than we have.

So yesterday was fairly productive. Paul and I took a walk in the morning, and we packed up a few boxes of books. I made some good headway on my son’s graduation slideshow, got all of my clothing returns from the past couple months boxed up and ready to ship, and shopped for the summer clothes the kids were wanting.

Last night Paul and I decided to go out for an impromptu date night. There’s a French bistro nearby that we like frequent — the restaurant isn’t our favorite, but they have a cool bar area, and you can call ahead and reserve a high top, which is nice because it’s always crowded. If you get there before 6PM, you get Happy Hour prices, so we usually go around 5:30.

They have good cocktails and a nice wine list — I guess the beer selection is good too, but that’s not my thing. I also love their appetizers — particularly the cheese and charcuterie plate. We get that almost every time we go.

We hadn’t been out alone together since Paul’s diverticulitis episode and all of the house buying/selling craziness, so it was nice to sit and chat without interruptions.

Of course, as soon as we left the house, it started to rain… because not only has it rained almost every Sunday this spring, it has also rained (or snowed) every single time we have had a date night since December. I know this because Paul bought me fancy designer suede pumps for Christmas, and I haven’t been able to wear them yet. It’s killing me slowly… haha!

I told him last night, the next dry day we have, I don’t care if it’s the weekend or not, I’m going to make him take me out somewhere so I can wear them.

Anyway. Let’s move on to fashion-related topics…

Adore Your Wardrobe Registration

Registration for the next session of Adore Your Wardrobe opens today!

For the uninitiated, this is an online course designed by Kelly Snyder to help you demystify fashion with the principles of math and science. Kelly teaches the science and math, formulas and rules behind creating an amazing looking silhouette on your individual body.

Taking the Adore Your Wardrobe course made SUCH a difference in how I view my body and how I dress myself. Don’t believe me? Look back through my blog archives, and see the outfits I was wearing 3 and 4 and 5 years ago. YIKES!!!

I don’t always get it perfect now, but I’ve come a long way, and AYW was a big part of that evolution.

In this course, you start by determining your unique body type, and then you learn what styles and colors look best on you and how to put outfits together that create proper balance and proportion.

I’ve had people ask me to address these topics on the blog, and I try to slip some tips in here and there, but there is no substitute for the personal attention you get in a course like this. Plus I’d never want to compromise Kelly’s course by sharing information here that is for paid members only.

I do always try to be mindful of that, but honestly, there is so much about this course that is personalized to your individual body type that it’s impossible to convey even a fraction of it in blog post format. You really need to take the course to know how to apply the information.

In fact, it’s not just a course; it’s actually a community. When you register for Adore Your Wardrobe, you will be added to a private Facebook Group where Kelly and her team members offer you personal advice to make sure you get the most out of the course, and you also end up bonding with other course members and learning from each other.

You may be wondering if this course is for you. Basically, this course is for anyone who isn’t 100% confident about putting outfits together and dressing her unique body.

If you feel like you have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear, this course is for you.

If you struggle to put outfits together, this course is for you.

If you love shopping and fashion but get discouraged when your clothes don’t look as good on you as you expected them to, this course is for you.

If you hate shopping and need some trusted formulas to make getting dressed every day and looking good a breeze, this course is for you.

No matter where you are in your fashion journey, this course will transform the way you think about clothes and how you put outfits together.

Interested? You can sign up through my referral link HERE.

I also took Course #2, which builds on Course #1, and it was amazing as well. In fact, I often say that’s when everything really came together for me. So if you’re a Course #1 graduate who is debating about Course #2, I highly recommend going for it.

If you’ve already taken the course, feel free to chime in and let us know how you liked it.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. I took adore your wardrobe course 1 and it did give me basic rules that have helped me choose clothes for my body better. I don’t like everything that other with my body type wear, it’s a little frumpy and too similar. I’ve wanted to take c 2 but it’s just too expensive for me to convince my husband about! Haha

  2. I was cracking up at the story of the dog barfing at 2am.  Nothing gets me moving faster than the sound of a cat barfing – usually on my dining room rug

  3. Bless your heart!  I think I would have been real tempted to awaken 3 teenagers to clean up the dogs accident.  Unbelievably, it’s not raining here this morning.  I feel your pain!  Beginning tomorrow, we are supposed to have a full week of lower humidity and temps below the mid 90’s. I knew you would get some things boxed up!  Way to go!  Have a blessed Sunday, even if it is raining.

    1. Haha! I did not clean up dog puke in the middle of the night. I comforted the poor, sick doggie that was crying and brought her in my bed. Then we woke up the teenagers to clean it up this morning.

      1. Yesss! Haha good job, Mama!
I’m in Portland OR this weekend visiting my brand new grandson, and the weather is spectacular, while my husband back home in Lewes is preparing for a storm to blow through again! It’s rained so much on the east coast, I’m suffering from SADD! Glad to see the sun out here for a change!

      2. Good for you. Hope your doggie is ok today. All you have to do is making me tired so I am going to take a nap. Ha. We are having 94 today so rain would be a blessing for us.

      3. I hope your doggie feels better today! Hopefully, the teens learned their lesson. All human food is not good for our furry friends.

  4. I really want to sign up for the Adore Your Wardrobe, but I’m getting ready to be on vacation for a couple of weeks, can I sign up now and start the program later? Or do the sessions have specific start and end dates?

        1. You can do things on your own time table… the lessons come out every few days but if you have to wait to do them, it’s okay. But it is ideal if you’re pacing with the rest of the class because the discussion in the group will be most helpful that way. Everyone else posts pictures and gets feedback, which is almost as helpful as getting your own personal feedback. But if you have more time in the summer, it might be better to do it now and just catch up when you get back from your trip… just some thoughts to confuse you more, haha!

          1. Yes more to confuse! 🤪😂 I seem to over schedule myself when my daughter is in school because I have “so much time.” Right…..

  5. Why is it that dogs only barf and smoke detector batteries only die in the very early AM hours? It is a universal truth.
I guess when you start your day with dog puke, it can only get better – have a good one!

  6. I took course 1 and am currently finishing course 2. These courses are an investment, but I feel the knowledge I have gained will help me make better shopping choices.  I love your blog, however, skinny pants are a “no” for my body type.  Since they are the trend it seems bloggers model them for the most part. Thanks for the great posts!

    1. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed them! Skinny jeans are a trend, and they are just so easy to wear with so many things. I was thrilled to discover they were part of my body type rules (I’m a short-waisted curvy) but I think I’d have a hard time giving them up if they weren’t. It is so helpful to know when they work and when they don’t, and then sometimes you can use color and other elements to compensate.

  7. I took your advice Jo-Lynne and took both of Kelly Snyder’s classes 1 and 2. We are just finishing course 2 now. So much good information. It is so much easier now to shop for my body. Also I do feel better about myself with Kelly’s encouragement. I can go into my closet and choose outfits so much easier. It is magical! It doesn’t rain much here in San Diego, but my style is almost identical to yours and Kelly’s. So much fun and very rewarding. Get dressed in the morning and forget about it!

  8. Yep, a pet getting sick certainly has a distinctive sound. LOL! I, too, have been woken many times in that way. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to nap this afternoon, Jo-Lynne. It’s great to hear that Paul is well enough for a date night.

  9. You are so right about the Pacific Northwest having more sunny days than the Philly area! I was in Portland and Seattle in April. The weather was beautiful each day on the extended weekend I was there. Spectacular sunrises and sunsets.  I was pleasantly surprised since I was expecting grey skies and rain.
I’m glad your husband is feeling better and you enjoyed a night out! Also, congrats on your new home! Looking forward to seeing decorating posts especially your new closet- one of the most important rooms!

I really enjoy reading your blog. Your blog is full of great fashion information and I love it’s clean layout. It’s been like forever since I have commented. It’s been a busy spring into summer for me with weddings and family events.

    Have a great Sunday!

  10. We really have had dryer days in the Pacific Northwest than is usual this time of year.  Very thankful for that.  I just wish it would get warmer and stay warmer.  It’s sure been up and down,   I’m ready for Summer and my Summer clothes!  So glad to hear you and Paul were able to get away for a bit.  Hopefully, you’ll get to wear your suede pumps next time!

  11. Pros…the principals of AYW are great.  They do work!  I do dress appropriately for my body type, spend less on clothes and love my clothes in my closet.  The cons…associates who give feedback/advice on outfits aren’t always consistent in following the principles which can be confusing.

    1. Yeah, you have to know how to siphon through their advice. I do like them to tell me what is trending or how people are wearing things, but I make up my own mind ultimately.

  12. You are so funny. From Barf to wanting to wear your new suede pumps. I wondered if anyone else planned a date night to wear their new stuff. Ha ha. Hope your barf hit hard wood floor not carpet. Once my kids were gone it was no more pets for us. Too much work. As for the weather I live in the pacific NW and yes we are having drier spring than normal. Month of May hit records. They are saying we are in a drought. 🙂 lol. Not a word we hear often. But, it started to sprinkle today and I told my husband I wish it would pour down. I actually want a good rain to get the dust down and water my lawn. Looks like nice tomorrow on again. Sorry for all your rain and dreary days. It really can get to a person. I want Spring to finally be nice.

  13. I’m so bummed. I was seriously conysigning up. Your link says registration for June is closed. 🙁
