Coffee Talk from Vero Beach

Greetings, and happy Sunday from sunny Florida! This is the view from my perch this morning. Not bad, eh???

It’s actually going to get rather stormy here today, but we had an absolutely glorious day yesterday, and tomorrow looks nice as well, so I’ll take it.

We spent most of yesterday on the beach — except that I took some time away to shoot a few outfits with a local photographer down here. Martina was a blast to work with, and she knew all the best photo spots. We had so much fun.

Last night we went to dinner and came back and hung out in the bar here at the resort. There may have been some karaoke involved… but what happens in Vero stays in Vero so there won’t be any photographic evidence of that!

In fact, there’s not much photographic evidence of our trip at all. My roommate was sweet enough to try to get a picture of my dinner outfit last night, but the wind was not being friendly, and the lighting indoors wasn’t cooperating either, so I settled for another mirror selfie on my Insta Story.

We wanted to get a picture of the four of us gussied up for dinner, but that didn’t really happen either. It seems crazy that we’re here in this gorgeous resort and haven’t gotten any pictures of ourselves here, but we’ve been enjoying the relaxation and the time together and away from family and work responsibilities at home, and we haven’t really thought about it that much!

This morning we all have spa appointments, and then we’ll have to figure out what to do this afternoon with the stormy weather. We wanted to hit up the shops on Ocean Drive, but I’m not sure if that will be feasible or not. I don’t know quite what to expect from this storm system; I’m so not familiar with Florida weather and how bad it can be. Can we go out in it or not? I know some of you reading live down here, so help a girl and her friends out!

Well, I’m going to get off this computer and get outside while we still have sunshine. I was going to go running, but I think my roomie and I might see about getting some bikes.

Have a great Sunday!!!

  1. You never know about the crazy weather here. It can get pretty brutal. If that’s the case this afternoon, I’ll be watching the storm from my, covered, pool deck.

  2. I am so relieved to know that y’all are not flying out today!  I know you will enjoy the spa and whatever else y’all get into.  I am enjoying your instaStories!

  3. Your best bet is to down load the weather app and keep an eye on the radar. Right now, it looks like you’ll just have rain. Should blow thru pretty quick. Of course it’s Florida and that can change!

  4. Not sure how the storms get in Florida but maybe it would be possible to do your outdoor activities this morning before the storm hits and do the spa thing during the storm.  That way you’re inside and enjoying a relaxing time regardless of what the weather is doing.   😊

  5. I live in Venice Floida and going out in the storm today is perfectly OK!!! It is not hurricane season.

I will be out shopping this afternoon myself. Just take an umbrella with you and have fun!! 👍

  6. The storms here in Florida can at times be rough and from watching todays weather this afternoon is going to be rough, knowing how the FL weather is I would get your outdoor activities this morning before the storm hits and do the spa thing during the storm. That way you’re inside and enjoying a relaxing time regardless of what the weather is doing.

  7.  I’m kind of glad you haven’t had time to take pictures. Obviously I’d love to see them, but so glad that you get to take some time with your friends and just have a blast. You deserve it.

  8. Biking would be nice for a change. Less pictures just means you are having more fun. Sometimes we get caught up in picture taking instead of enjoying the moment. I live in Savannah and we will have storms too but don’t let it dampen your day. Ha.It could be off and on. A good movie if it gets too rainy.

  9. Few pictures just means you’re living in the moment. Enjoy your time with friends and forget about documenting it for IG or the blog. You can’t be working all the time.
Riding bikes sounds like fun. You’ll see more of the area that way. And, the spa even more so. Pamper away!

  10. Oh pics are nice but just enjoy and be in the moment. You’ll be back to reality soon enough😉
Have a great day enjoy the spa.

  11. Unplugging a bit from the photos isn’t totally a bad thing. Glad you and your friends are enjoying your getaway and having mostly good weather!
