Happy First Day of SPRING!!!
As it turns out, the bru-ha-ha about the snow was all for naught. So far, we got nuttin’. Not even rain. In fact, it’s a beautiful morning.
The current forecast says we might have a few flurries tonight, but I don’t think it will amount to much. By mid-week, we’ll be back in the 60s. At the moment, Easter weekend looks chilly, but I wouldn’t expect anything less for a March Easter.
So…. Womp! Womp!
I should have known it would be a non-event. It seems like anytime they hype something up, it turns out to be nothing. NOT that I’m complaining!!
In more exciting news, the Tory Burch Private Sale ends tomorrow. The purse in this picture is gone, but there are still some great items left. See my top picks in THIS POST.
This Stripe V-Neck Sweatshirt has been selling like hotcakes. I love the red, but it also comes in navy, yellow, and black stripes. Get full outfit details HERE.
I took this picture as I was running out the door to church last week. This Lucky Brand top is old; I picked it up a few years ago in a local shop, and it’s always a spring favorite.
Ignore the boxes and clutter behind me. I’m in the process of moving out my winter clothes. I dropped a big stack of sweaters off at the dry cleaner’s yesterday, and my closet is starting to look thinned out again! For a while there, with 2 seasons worth of clothes competing for space, it was starting to feel crowded again. I hate that.
After our 27 Days of Spring Fashion is over, I’ll share a picture of my spring closet with what remains. I’m not doing a capsule again, but I am being quite selective about what stays and what goes so I can keep my closet manageable.
These are the “official” pictures of the outfit above. The baby bootcut jeans are on sale for $88, and I am loving these these block heel sandals from Payless. Get all the details in THIS POST.
This chambray and white outfit is one of my faves from this spring series. This combo has been done many times, but I love how the leopard flats keep it fresh. Get the full outfit details HERE.
And this is what I actually wore the day of that photo shoot. I felt like it was too early for white denim, so I switched to my olive cargos.
similar popover // similar cargo skinnies // similar leopard flats // similar orange hobo
I posted this selfie yesterday morning on my way out for a photo shoot. Denim and black never gets old. The Dolman V-Neck Top is from White House Black Market, and it is super cute on. It comes in other colors too — some with stripes. I went with basic black because I like to get a new black top each season. It goes with so much!!
The details on this pastel yellow and white outfit are HERE.
This is a selfie from St. Paddy’s Day. The green top is from LOFT last season. I hope they come out with something similar this year because I really love it, and I’d love to grab one in another color.
This details on this Dotscape Print Side Twist Dress are in THIS POST.
I threw this on one rainy day last week. The Paige Verdugo mint skinnies are on sale right now at Bloomingdales! Don’t miss their Denim Days Sale — save 15% on one denim item and 25% on two or more!!!

Earlier this week, I went to see The Sound of Music at The Academy of Music in Philly.
I LOVE living so close to a city with awesome theater opportunities, and this historic old building never ceases to charm me.
This is what I wore.
faux leather moto jacket $145 // similar-ish ponte pants $39 // old tall wedge boots & striped top
The details on this outfit are HERE.
As a follow-up, the blush jeans are from American Eagle Outfitters. I had high hopes that I had found a budget-friendly denim brand that I can recommend, but I tried the 8 and the 10 (wearing the 10 above) and neither fit quite right. The pocket placement is a bit off and doesn’t do my rear view any favors, plus the 10 feels too big and the 8 feels too small.
Last night, my mom and I went to the mall for a couple of hours, and I picked up the Paige Verdugo in soft pink on the Bloomies Denim Days Sale for 25% off (along with some jean shorts for summer!!) I pulled them on, and it was like coming home. They feel like skin. I guess I’m just hopelessly devoted to my premium denim. Ha!
This is another shot of that Dolman V-Neck Top. I was trying out a few outfit combinations for my next Payless sponsored post (coming soon!!!)
Dolman V-Neck Top $44 // J. Brand Low Rise Crop Jeans $151 (Nordstrom is price matching!)
Noah High Wedge c/o Payless // Isobel Hobo $325 (I got this on the ShopBop Sale)
Finally, I picked up tulips yesterday in anticipation of the First Day of Spring. White tulips are my favorites!!
And that’s a wrap! I have a busy day ahead. I’m hoping to go for a quick run, then there’s church, brunch out with my fam, and and then my daughter has a vocal performance this afternoon. I know she’s got all the nerves going on, but I really hope it’s a good experience for her. Say a little prayer for her, if you think about it!
Have a beautiful Sunday!

JoLynne,
Hi! Love the outfits! Saw a post about your daughter getting a rash. Hopefully it’s just nerves or something mild that doesn’t stay around long!
Thank you!! They’re not sure what it is so gave Prednisone and if that doesn’t work, an a/b script to fill. Hoping the Prednisone knocks it out. 🙂
As a Special Education teacher in Middle School, it is hard to marry how I would like to dress with what is practical – you never know what your day may bring so you have to be dressed for anything. Your post provides me some great options. I feel as though I had personally gone towards more of a tomboy look – you’ve given me some new alternatives. Thanks.
That’s awesome! So glad I can help. 🙂 I know from teaching 3rd grade and preschool, you do have to be practical.
Bless her heart! I hope she is feeling better so that she can knock it out of the park this afternoon! I’m sure you know so many tricks to share with her to help her remain calm.
Of course, I loved all of your outfits.
God Bless!
Thanks, Ginger. The rash was my younger daughter, thank goodness! My older daughter had the vocal recital. 🙂 She did great.
Did I see gold Toms in your Paddy’s day outfit?
I’ve just recently discovered Toms (not many people wear them here in the UK). Are they comfy? Could you wear them with a casual dress or skirt (maxis for example)? Are they still trending or getting old?
Loving your round ups, keep them coming ????
Hey Emma, they aren’t Toms. They were Sam Edelman, last year. I haven’t seen them again this year. Toms are still trending, but they’re coming out with new styles to stay relevant.
Whatever the weather- your photo shoots always look bright and cheery. The sun is peeking through, literally and figuratively.
Aww, thanks! We try to pick the best time of day. 🙂
