Coffee Talk + What I’ve Worn On Sale

Good morning! I hope you’re all having a good weekend.

We’ve been trying to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather we’re having. I went for a walk/run yesterday morning, and then we took the girls and went out to eat for lunch where we could sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the sun.

I had some errands to run after lunch, and then we came home and watched My Best Friend’s Wedding. I think my older daughter appreciated the humor more than the younger — we both laughed till we cried during the dinner scene where they all ended up singing I Say A Little Prayer For You. And I have a feeling we’ll be quoting Love the bag, love the shoes, love everything! for weeks.

It’s hard to find movies we all like, but I guess that one was as good as any. I’m always up for suggestions.

Anyway, that’s about it for me. I thought I’d round up some things I’ve worn or featured lately that are on sale. It seems like the entire internet is on sale this weekend.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

My go-to spring jacket is on sale, but only a few sizes are left. It runs small; I have the medium, for reference. I love this coat, the quality is fantastic, and it has a flattering fit. It’s heavier than some rain jackets, which I like because we have such cold spring weather here in PA.

Here’s another option that is fully stocked… I haven’t tried this one, but J.Crew’s classic rain jacket is 30% off and it comes in a ton of colors. If you live in an area of the country that gets a lot of rain, this looks like the perfect spring coat for it. If I didn’t have a similar one that I like so much, I’d snap this right up.

This striped ringer tee is an extra 25% off with code APRILSHOWERS and a lot of sizes are still available. It’s just now getting warm enough for me to start wearing mine, and I have a feeling it will be on serious repeat here for the next few weeks.

I realize I just shared this outfit, but everything I’m wearing here is on a really deep discount. The top is a nice transition piece if you like the boho style, and I highly recommend these Lucky Brand jeans if you’re wanting a pair of legging ankle jeans. I truly cannot believe they’re under $40. They look and feel way more expensive than that. These leather wedge sandals are a great buy as well.

These white sneakers are on sale, and they’re a great way to participate in the white leather sneaker trend without breaking the bank. They aren’t genuine leather, but they’re a great look for the price.

In fact, with the Macy’s Great Shoe Sale, there are tons of good sale options, and if you buy two or more, you can save 40%. Check out these espadrille peep-toe wedges, these leather espadrille flats, and these Greece sandals are super popular right now.

My Laurna mules have been on sale for a while, but I’ll throw them another mention because there are a lot of sizes left. I recommend sizing down half.

This classic bell sleeve sheath is under $40, and sizes are starting to sell out. It also comes in lilac and black/white dots.

This jumpsuit is also starting to sell out, but it’s 40% off right now, so if you’ve been hemming and hawing, now is the time to grab it.

After much debate, I decided to keep the Paige cargo pants. If you didn’t catch my Try On Haul yesterday, I ordered 3 pairs from Bloomingdale’s Friends & Family Sale. Paul was actually the deciding factor.

I was going to keep the Joie pair, but he told the Paige looked better, and I realized after trying them both on again yesterday that the Paige pair is slightly more comfortable — something about the way they sit at my waist.

The Sanctuary pair is good too; I just didn’t personally like the feel of the fabric as much, or the elastic drawstring waistband. All 3 are 25% off through April 14th.

Also part of the Bloomingdale’s 25% off sale — these classic Stuart Weitzman strappy sandals and this lower heeled version. I almost never see these go on sale. In fact, I’m sorely tempted to order the adobe patent because I like my black nappa pair so much.

These woven Clara mules are 25% off as well. Also, TB Millers are not on sale, but they’re part of the Power Points offer. Same with my McGraw Hobo.

And the Sam Edelman Regis wedge in silver and black are also 25% off at Bloomies.

I’m sure there’s more, but I need to hop off here and get ready for church! I hope y’all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. Morning Jolynne!  When I have hit several of your links on today’s and yesterday’s post a very suspicious “give away”
pops up and nothing to do with the product you have linked.  I have no idea if it’s on my end or yours but I thought I would alert you.  I look forward to your blog everyday!  Thank you!

    1. Hey Kelley, there are several viruses that can cause this. Google “giveaway virus” and see which one looks like the one you saw. It could be on your end, or on mine. You’re the second person to tell me this is happening on my site this week so I’m going to let my tech team know in case it’s on my end. I’ll keep you posted.

  2. Hi, absolutely love the navy bell sleeve sheath dress – so  simple and elegant.  Very useful for all seasons.
    Glad you are feeling better.
    Best wishes Jane

  3. Love, love, love that navy blue sheath dress on you!! You look amazing in that!! That might be my favorite outfit on you so far!! Gorgeous!!

  4. Now is a good time to get some of these if I’m on the fence.   😊

Here are some good funny movies – not really chick flicks but funny.  Keep in mind my husband and I probably have a weird sense of humor so while these are hilarious to us – but may not be as funny to others.  🤷‍♀️

The Court Jester with Danny Kaye
Big Business with Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin
Oscar with Sylvester Stallone (yes it’s funny not action) and Marissa Tomei
The Private Eyes with Don Knotts and Tim Conway
They are all funny and not much bad language if any and no nudity.

  5. I have 2 of the raincoats you referred to from J Crew. (I was supposed to buy one but couldn’t decide between the olive and cream 🙄). They look great and I get compliments nearly every time I wear them, but they aren’t waterproof. Perfect for a light rain or a quick dash from the car to the house in a heavy rain. If you’re willing to seal the shoulder seams – seam sealer is available at REI – they should be good in most situations.

  6. Thanks very much for this post Jolynne ! I have been following you for awhile. I was able to get the jcrew jacket at 40% off… Yes they got a code for 40% called Refresh. I used your link as well! Thank you!! I got it in Navy because that is my favorite color. I read a comment that it wasn’t waterproof and you have to seal the shoulders . either way I am good with it 🙂
