Coral Pullover with Snake Print Booties | 22 Days of Fall Fashion

Happy Tuesday, we’re in the home stretch! It’s day 21 of 22 Days of Fall Fashion, and I’m styling a casual pullover with jeans and booties.

As you probably know by now, this is my fall uniform of choice, but just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it has to be boring. I incorporated a mix of patterns and textures for interest, and of course fit and proportion are key to a polished appearance, no matter how basic the outfit may be.

This sweater is cozy and soft, with almost a nubby texture. I love this faded coral color, but it also comes in a few other solids as well as some color block patterns.

I would say it is showing a little more pink in these photos than it is in real life, but I don’t think it has warm undertones… it’s hard to say. I feel like it would be flattering on women with warm or cool coloring.

It’s cut slightly longer in the back than the front, and the silhouette is relaxed without being sloppy. I appreciate that the sleeves are nice and long, and the subtle scoop neck and raglan sleeves are flattering as well.

The material is a nylon/acrylic/wool/spandex blend, and it runs true to size. I’m wearing my usual small.

While this coral color looks great with all shades of bluejeans, I also like how it pairs with these off-black jeans. The faded black is more casual than a pure black wash, and they seem to go with everything.

These are the Good American Good Legs that I’ve been wearing so much lately. They were an #NSale find, and I love the fit. They have an 11″ rise, so I prefer to wear them with tops that I leave untucked because they keep everything nice and smooth underneath.

Because the outfit is so simple, I added snake print booties for pattern and texture. They even have a hint of pink in the print that ties in nicely with the sweater.

These are from last season, but I did find a few sizes on Amazon. I love these booties. They are so comfortable.

I chose not to wear a necklace, and went with a pair of smaller geometric hoop earrings instead. These days I’m liking the simplicity of a plain neckline. I think I did the long pendant necklace so much in the past few years that it’s beginning to look dated to me.

Another option would be to layer a few shorter delicate necklaces, but I just didn’t feel like this outfit needed it.

It’s a simple look, but the cozy knit offers a nice contrast to the off-black denim, the snake print booties bring some pattern and added texture to the look, and even the quilted leather bag adds another element of interest.

As we head into fall and the weather starts to cool down, this is the type of outfit I’ll be wearing for outdoor dining with the family and backyard get-togethers with friends. I can add a lightweight jacket when it gets chilly, and even a thin base layer for extra warmth if I need it.

  1. What a great outfit!  The coral sweater is a beautiful color on you.  The booties are the perfect touch to elevate the outfit.  I keep looking at the W&W black jeans online, but they don’t seem to really be off black, which is what I want.  The ones from GAP look lighter, but I have no idea how that brand would fit my shape.  Boy, you do have a full day ahead of you.  Good luck at the dentist!  Like you, we think it is important to watch the debate tonight, so that’s what we will be doing as well.  Oh, if only everyone could show some grace and respect for one another’s viewpoints.  If all of us had the very same beliefs and opinions, the world would be rather boring.  Have a great day!

  2. I love this outfit and it definitely fits my style these days. Good to know that long pendant necklaces are starting to look dated. I hope all goes well with your busy schedule today.

  3. Hi Jolynne,
Love your blog! You look adorable today in the outfit you’re wearing. The booties make the outfit!  Just love it.

  4. Great outfit Jo-Lynne. I like the top and that it’s a little longer in the back. Of course the handbag is so nice!
On another note, I was wondering if you could let me know what kind of sheets you have?
I haven’t seen you do a home session on your blog in a while. I believe the kitchen was the last one which turned out so nice. There are so many choices of sheets and I find it’s best to ask other people what ones they have. My girlfriends are not that pleased with the ones they have bought so I’m hoping you can help. I usually buy cotton. How about you? Thanks.

  5. I love the color of this sweater! It’s so pretty on you. I think coral is considered a “universal color” that flatters any complexion. I especially like this softer version of coral.

  6. I think you’re right. Coral seems to look good on most people whether they are warm or cool. It lights up your face, JoLynne.

Politics are so divisive. Why do people get so ugly about it? Can’t we all have our own beliefs, morals, ethics and needs? What has happened to respecting others opinions? Be kind people!

    1. Amen! Not sure how politics became so polarized, divisive and plain nasty over past 10 – 15 years. Be kind, be respectful, have grace, listen to others’ opinions even if it differs to your own…… Good for you for having a family date night to watch the Presidential debate. Voting is important and not something to take for granted especially when veterans have fought for our rights and freedoms. I love the coral sweater. Such a flattering color.

  7. Your pictures came out lovely. Such a beautiful area and back drop for fall pics. I always comment on the clothes and forget to tell you how nice your pics are. I know a lot of work goes into your photo shots as well.

  8. Funny that you mentioned the long pendant necklaces looking dated – I have been thinking that lately (and have so many, unfortunately) but wasnt sure. Thanks for keeping us in check! I am going to check out those jeans for a more updated black jean look. Paranoid now!

    1. I try to be careful making claims like that… it’s a classic style that is never really “out” but it was done SO much for a few years, it’s looking kind of tired to me right now. But that doesn’t mean everyone should toss all of theirs. I’ve kept a few that I love, and I wear them sparingly.

  10. Thank you for your honesty and candor regarding the whole political thing, I had to snooze a very dear friend today. Enough was enough. It was either snooze her or lose the friendship.  I’m so ready to get on Facebook and Instagram and not see all the political stuff.
