Daily Mom Style 11.07.12

I can not believe that one week ago today we were flying home from Disney World!!! That is surreal. But when I went back to edit my Daily Mom Style photos from the past week, sure ’nuff, I found this waiting for me:

day 1

That is my Ella Moss Vida Stripe Raglan Top that I got at Nordstrom (now on sale half off, KICKING MYSELF!!) with straight-cut jeans by Seven (old), and I’m carrying my lovey — my Kelly Moore Libby camera/laptop bag. A simple silver hand-stamped necklace and a silver link bracelet were my only accessories. I like to keep it simple when I’m traveling. The ballet flats are easy to take on and off at the security checkpoint, and my bag carries my laptop, camera, Kindle and various and sundry other travel necessities all in one place.

day 2

I wore this the meet my husband for lunch on our first day back home. The oatmeal colored button sweater is from Target; I picked it up on my press trip a few weeks ago. The bag is Fossil’s Vintage Revival Satchel in Espresso; I received it as part of a blogger campaign with Social Spark… more on that on Friday. And the boots… they are my latest splurge. Total impulse purchase. I was at the mall and happened into the Lord & Taylor Friends & Family sale and these boots spoke my name. I am dead serious. It was clear as day. They had to come home with me, you see. It was meant to be. They are the Franco Sarto Poet in Brandy Vintage Calf, and I would marry them if I could.

day 3

This was clearly a work-from-home-all-day outfit. And Savannah would NOT get out of the picture, no matter how many times I told her to go lie down. I love this fleece sweatshirt from the Oakley outlet; it is so cozy. And the blue top underneath was on clearance at the Merrill outlet, which is also where I picked up the sneakers, also on clearance. This is the perfect work-at-home and walk-the-dog outfit, if you ask me. It won’t win any style awards but it’s cute and comfy and it serves its purpose.

day 4

I wore this on Saturday to the Mom Mixer hosted by my good friends Colleen and Whitney. I wanted to wear my new boots, so I paired them with skinny jeans and this forest green sweater. I got this sweater several years ago at Nordstrom, and I wore my circle necklace from Studio Jewel.

day 5

I threw this on yesterday to wear at home and to go vote. The cowl neck sweater is from the J.Crew outlet, and the boots and jeans are old. I love these Ugg boots. You can’t see it well in this picture, but they have pink stitching around the top. They are so cozy and warm . . . they’re like wearing slippers.

As I sit here in my warm house at this spacious desk, prattling on about what I’m wearing, I can’t help but think about those in NY and NJ still without electricity other basic necessities and with this Nor’easter looming. Please, if you have any funds to spare, consider donating to World Vision or the Red Cross as they are already encamped in the region and are gathering supplies to prepare for another of nature’s onslaughts.

  1. I love that day 2 outfit! Those boots are so pretty and the sweater is so pretty. Love the pop of color with the shirt. All so pretty!

  2. I just stumbled upon your site. I love to see your style. So many mom style advice is a little over the top. I don’t want to dress for a prom to go to run errands or take my DD to dance class. Your style is pulled together, attractive yet functional. Thank you for being realistic! Glad I found your site. I’ll be back.

  3. I’ve been on a boot hunt. I found some on 6pm that I really liked but they only had wide in my size so I wasn’t sure so I waited. Now there just aren’t any in my size, wide or not. I love those! I also love that sweater from Target. I had my eye on that too but I haven’t seen it the past two times I’ve been in the store. I haven’t specifically looked for it either though.

I saw a picture of a sign from Nordstrom’s that said they won’t be celebrating Christmas until after Thanksgiving. That made me want to run out and shop there!

  4. What a great group of outfits… those Uggs look adorable. Think outfits with camel boots also make everything look more chic and put together. What a fun getaway!!

  5. I’m definitely going to try an orange top under my neutral cardigan now. I love the way it looks on you, especially against the jeans. Brilliant. Great score on the boots. There’s nothing quite like boot-love. Happy to have found you at Monday Mingle today.
