Daily Mom Style + Day 11 of 28 Winter Outfits

Welcome back to Fashion Over 40: Daily Mom Style, where I share what I wore this week.

Keep in mind, I’m not a fashionista. I’m just a suburban mom trying to keep it fabulous after 40, figuring out what works for me as I navigate this new decade. I share my outfits in hopes of inspiring other moms to take time for themselves and feel good about how they look. I realize fashion and style doesn’t come easily to everyone, so maybe these posts help ease the burden just a bit!

I wore this all day last Wednesday because I had a physical therapy appointment. I figured since I showered and did my hair and makeup, I could justify staying in workout gear all day. I’m not crazy about the fit of this top, but I really love the colors. And the pants are Athleta’s Metro Skinny Pants, and I love them. I feel like they’re a step up from yoga pants but they still have the same comfort factor.

On Thursday, I wore this casual outfit to work from home. I’m a huge fan of the cashmere zip-up hoodie. I have two of these from two different brands. It’s such a great casual piece to have in your closet.

I wore this outfit on Friday to ride out to Gettysburg with my husband for a press trip. We had lunch when we arrived and then did a battlefield tour that afternoon.

That night to go out to dinner, I changed into this cute wrap top I bought at White House Black Market during the holidays. The jewelry is also from WHBM. And I switched into my black riding boots that were sent to me as part of a blogging promotion last fall. They are currently ON SALE at Naturalizer!

Saturday for sight-seeing, I wore this casual grey sweater that I picked up at LOFT last fall with the same jeans and grey UGGs.

Saturday night, I wore this out to dinner. Most pieces are old. The black jacket and top as well as the necklace are from White House Black Market last winter. And the black skinny pants are also old. These are the same black riding boots as pictured above.

And on Sunday, for driving home and meeting my mom and kids for brunch, I wore my favorite leggings (now 20% OFF!) and purple tunic sweater (no longer available; see similar) with the riding boots and my grey animal print scarf (from LOFT, also old).

WHEW! I’m not done yet. Yikes!

This was Monday. The weather was mild and I took the opportunity to wear my denim jacket over this striped tee with my olive green cargo pants.

Yesterday, I went out to lunch with some friends, so I wore this blue tunic over my black leggings with black boots. I love this outfit for its comfort factor, and yet it still looks nice enough to wear to work or out for lunch or even to a casual dinner.

  1. Love your style! I just started following you, being a mom of three myself I find your style great. I work out of my home and need to wear more than just workout clothes on a daily basis. Thanks for the great inspiration.
