Daily Mom Style | I Feel Pretty

I’m psyched to be co-hosting the I Feel Pretty fashion link-up today with Alison of Get Your Pretty On. If you are visiting from Alison’s, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a writer, runner and self-professed girly-girl who is obsessed with social media, bacon, sauvignon blanc and skinny jeans. (And I absolutely detest the telephone. If you want a response, text me; don’t call.)

Rather than showing what I wore this week (which, unfortunately, was rather pathetic due to my frequent PT appointments and being stuck at home with a sick kid) I thought I’d share a few of my favorite fall outfits. I’m having so much fun layering and mixing and matching with the glorious fall weather we’ve been having. I feel like this has been one of the longest fall seasons EVER and I’m loving it!!

I wore this outfit on chilly, sunny fall afternoon to a local farm market, where we hung out and listened to live music and nibbled on their farm fresh fare (and, yes, it DID involve bacon!)

This green utility jacket from Banana Republic is one of my favorite purchases this fall. If you’ve been eyeing it up, you’re in luck! Today BR is starting another 30% off promotion —Starting 11/20, take 30% off full-priced styles at Banana Republic. Use code BRDRESSED. Ends 11/22.

The scarf is old; I believe I picked it up at the BR Factory Outlet a while back. The skinny jeans are also old; I lucked out and got them on a 40% off sale at Bloomies after Christmas quite a few years ago. They are proof that it is worth it to invest in good quality denim. They still look and feel almost like new, and they get A LOT of wear. The Toms Desert Booties are the love of my life. They are so so comfy and super cute too. They instantly elevate a simple outfit to a stylish fashion statement.

This next outfit is a favorite because the mustard yellow is a color I rarely wear. I surprised myself by picking it out at the LOFT a few weeks ago, and I find myself wearing it all the time now. I love wearing ponte knit pants as leggings. They are warmer and provide more coverage but they have the comfort and the streamlined look of a legging. And of course a riding boot is always a good idea! I prefer this cognac color to black with this outfit. It draws out the browns in the scarf and the buttons and creates a pleasing contrast against the black pants.

I feel like the leopard scarf makes this outfit. Again, it’s a little bit outside my comfort zone, but I think that’s one of the keys to having great style. You have to be willing to take a risk every once in a while.

I am absolutely in love with these camo pants from GAP. When they first came in the mail, I wasn’t sure about them, but I find myself wearing them all the time now. My favorite way to style them is with a denim jacket and a neutral underneath — usually gray or black.

And just to prove that yes, I do own a dress, this is my absolute fave. I love a shift dress; they’re so easy to wear, and I think the colors in this are stunning. I picked it up at the Banana Republic Outlet a few years ago. The nice thing about a bold printed dress like this is you don’t need to do much accessorizing. I wore an enamel bangle and a pair of Kendra Scott earrings in similar blue tones.

I will pair it with tights and boots when cold weather comes, but I’ve been going bare and wearing it with my silver Cole Haan Air Milly Wedge Pumps since the weather has been so mild. These are The Most Comfortable Pumps EVER — they come in black too. I HIGHLY recommend them if you need a basic pump that you can dress up or down and walk in all day. And they’re 25% off at Nordstrom! SCORE!!

Finally, I received this chevron maxi skirt from ADORNit as a part of their chevron extravaganza apparel sale. Check it out! They are selling chevron maxi skirts for $15.99 and chevron cardigans for $17.99. They have sizes to fit all women including S-XL as well as 1x-3x. I thought the coral and black pattern was super cute.

The skirt is made from a silky fabric that drapes beautifully and has a bit of a dressy vibe going on so I styled it for a going out look, or perhaps a Sunday morning church out fit. I paired it with a satin-trim cream cami under a black cardigan.

I’ve prefer maxi skirts with a bit of a heel, so I pulled out my Umberto Raffini Signature Joelle knee high wedge boots, which were a product sample from The Walking Company. Gold accessories complete the look.

  2. I love all those outfits. Ever since you first showcased those camo jeans, I’ve been wanting to get a pair.

The maxi skirt is really pretty. It’s a different look for you (did you feel like that?), but you wear it well. Looks fantastic.

  3. Would you say the Chevron maxi skirt runs true to size? Is it on the longer or shorter side? Love it and you have great taste!

    1. Yes, I would. mine is a small, and it is pretty snug at the waist, which I like, b/c it’s a wide panel so it actually works to hold my jiggles in place 🙂 a medium would probably fit too, but it would be longer. I like the small. I’m usually a 6 or 8, if that helps. And I’m 5’5″.

  4. I have shoes really similar to your Tom’s Dessert Booties from Walmart, they are almost a dead ringer. But when I bought them I wasn’t sure how to style them. Thank you for giving me some ideas over the past few weeks. They are now my favorite shoes!

  5. I need to get those Cole Haan shoes ..very cute and stylish but comfy. On a completely unrelated note, I find it interesting you hate talking on the phone. I am the same way! Do you ever get complaints from friends and family about this ? I have a certain family member who has let it be known that she feels kind of neglected because I only call her when I am out and about in the car. But when I’m at home I do not want to be on the phone..ugh!

  6. Love the chevron maxi skirt. I have been stalking the booties from Tom’s for awhile. It might be time to make a purchase!
