Day 6 of 28 Days of Winter Outfits

Hello from Gettysburg, PA! My mom arrived late last night to stay with the kids, and this morning my husband and I took off for Gettysburg… but not before I requested his photography services.

Here’s what I’m wearing today, day 6 in my 28 days of winter outfits challenge. (I just so happened to be holding my favorite mug with fresh, hot coffee, so I just carried it outside with me. Not even photo shoots get in between me and my java!)

It is a total coincidence that it also happens to be Wear Red Day, but as it turns out, I’m politically correct as well as put together today!

The red sweater is from Banana Republic last year, so once again, no product links. I’m sorry about that! I love the cable knit detailing on the cowl neck and the extra wide ribbed hem and cuffs. I wore my large gold hoops from Stella & Dot and Alex & Ani bangles.

The jeans are my favorite DL1961 Florence skinnies (Topeka wash) and you know these boots by now, I’M SURE. They are still the most comfortable pair of shoes I can wear with my foot brace, so I apologize for the lack of variety in footwear, but at least they’re cute, yes??

We arrived in Gettysburg just in time to grab a quick bite to eat and hop on the nerd history tour bus. I cannot WAIT to tell you about that. We had our own private tour of the battlefield. It was a blast, but that’s for another post.

Just look at this view from Little Round Top. Pretty cool, yes???

We are staying at the Federal Pointe Inn as guests of the Ascend Collection of boutique hotels. So far I am beyond impressed. This building was originally a school, and it was purchased and turned into an inn just two or three years ago.

Our room is huge with 12-foot ceilings lots of natural light. I love how they kept the integrity of the original building while adding modern conveniences to make their guests comfortable. I mean, there’s a Keurig in our room, hello!!!

It’s affordable too. I’ll have lots of pictures to share when I get home. Meanwhile, we’re on our way out to check out the Chocolate Walk before our dinner reservations later on.

  1. You look very pretty and comfortable for a car trip. Like your hair a little longer, looks good. Have fun in Gettysburg. It’s a great trip but very sad.

  2. hi Jolynne,

Would you mind telling me what size you wear in the DL1961 Florence skinny jeans? We are the same height and weight, so it would help me out a lot! I love the gray Ugg boots. I have black ones from a couple of years ago, and here in Seattle it is hardly cold enough to wear them, I roast with all that sheepskin lining! Perfect for the snow where you are.
