Early Spring Outfit: Coral & White

If you haven’t already guessed, coral and white is one of my favorite pairings for spring. Even when it’s still cold outside, you can put coral and white together, add some neutral shoes, and you have instant springtime!

I like this Gap sweater for this in-between weather because it has long sleeves, and it’s made of a soft Merino wool blend so it keeps you cozy and warm while still looking like spring. The raglan sleeves, rib-knit cuffs, and hi-lo hem add some interest, and it has a modest scoop neck that is flattering without being revealing.

In addition to this pretty spring coral, it also comes in navy, ivory, grey, and black. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, so it’s pretty true to size, but if you tend to run in between sizes, you’ll probably want to size down.

Best of all, it is on sale right now for $39.99, AND you can get 40% off with discount code FFSALE, which brings it down to just $23.99. I might need to order it in another color!

I considered wearing this sweater with blue jeans, but since I recently styled a coral denim jacket with blue jeans, I decided to wear my white skinnies, and I’m glad I did. The coral with the white is a bit dressier and also feels more spring-like to me.

I chose a closed-toe espadrille since there is still snow on the ground. I love the tassels on the wrap-around straps, and this taupe color is so versatile. It seems to go with everything.

For jewelry, I went with these gold and white chandelier earrings and a simple gold pendant. I like how the white earrings repeat the white from the jeans and bring the lightest, brightest color near my face.

Even though the weather hasn’t gotten the memo yet that it’s spring, I can start wearing this outfit right away, and that makes me very happy! I will probably throw my grey trench on top, or if it’s really chilly, my camel wool reefer coat.

  1. You look way cuter in the top than the model in GAP does! I look at those clothes on the models and I never see the potential. You wear them, and it’s all, ahhhh! That’s how it looks on a normal sized person!

  2. You’re right – that outfit instantly makes it Spring – even with the snow behind you. Love the shoes too.

Have a great “spring” day! 😉

  3. Love the coral sweater! It’s been difficult to figure out what to wear for spring with the crazy weather in PA. This is pretty AND at a great price point (Thank you! ). I also found a pretty green sweater on the Gap website which will also work for these cold mornings.

  4. I saw that sweater has a wool blend. I am allergic to wool. Do you think it would be the same? Is it itchy at all?

    1. It didn’t bother me, but then, I’m not allergic to wool. It doesn’t FEEL like wool at all. It’s feels way more spring-like, so my guess is the wool content is low.

  5. Hi, Jo-Lynn. I am tempted to buy white ankle jeans, but am worried about the fabric being too thin. Do you buy a thicker denim, or just wear a certain kind of underwear that won’t show through?

    1. Even among premium denim brands, it’s hard to find good white jeans that aren’t see through. I’ve tried a ton of them. I highly recommend Paige (what I’m wearing here) or DL1961 – both make good white denim. If those are out of your price range, I hear a lot of good things about the white jeans at LOFT. I linked to Gap and Old Navy in today’s post, but I haven’t tried them so I can’t vouch for how good they are. And I definitely wear only nude underwear with my white jeans.

  6. Love the shoes. You look really pretty in the coral color. Its funny how you have snow in the back ground. I think we all, no matter where we live, are still waiting for Spring. I’m looking for an ankle, white denim too, but just haven’t found the fit yet. I haven’t tried the Paige before, but know they are a little spendy. Probably going to get the LOFT ones when they go on sale next, as I like the fit of their petite, curvy, skinny jeans and they have the same in the white.

  7. love that color sweater on you ! Not sure how it will look on me but I’m willing to try it ! 🙂
love the whole outfit on you!
