Embrace the Change, Y’all.

I know, I know, no one likes change.  But I’d had my last design in various color schemes for a year and I was tired.  I’m excited about this one for several reasons.  For one, I like the new color scheme.  It feels breezy and springy.  And also?  That up there — that’s my new purse!

The credit for the purse and coffee mug goes to Steve Novak of Novak Illustration.  And the template changes were all Cathy at Desperately Seeking WordPress.  I love what she did with the page.  Basically I just put the header together and found the wallpaper.

I’ve been scarce around these here parts today because my mom is in town.  But let me leave you with a few kid-isms.  This evening we were playing a card game.  I jokingly told my son that if he beat me, I’d have to give him a noogie.  A few seconds passed, and my 3-year-old piped up in sudden realization, “Mom! MOM! Noogie and boogie RHYME!”

Alrightythen!

Then yesterday we were riding along in the car, and my 3-year-old was talking about her friends at school and she declared, “I love Megan. She’s nice.”

To which her 6-year-old sister replied, “Well. You CAN’T love her as much as Grammie and God.”

I guess I know the pecking order around here.

Finally, we made a trip to WalMart today to buy new bikes for the girls. They both rode them right up to the cash register and then out to the car. It was quite a spectacle. Later we were at the sporting goods store purchasing a gift for my son when R piped up from beside the register, “I love my new bike!”

“I’m so glad,” I replied.

Then she continued in her animated little 3-year-old voice, “It’s PRECIOUS and I LOVE it!”

The clerk behind the counter got a good chuckle at that, as did her mother and grandmother.

And that’s all I got.  Have a great weekend!
