Happy Thursday, friends! We’re expecting snow today. It will be the first snow of the season for us here in PA, and I’m pretty excited about it! Today’s outfit is squarely in my comfort zone — a great cozy pullover, skinny jeans, and tall boots. Plus I just love this color palette.

I found this cowl neck sweater at Social Threads. It also comes in black, but I really love this moss green color. It’s soft and cozy, and I love the raglan sleeves.

The overall shorter, boxy shape is on trend right now, and I like the way this sweater cut a little longer in the back. The cowl neck is nice and relaxed and easy to style. It stays put and doesn’t get in my way.

FYI, yesterday this sweater was sold out in the Moss Green, and this morning it’s restocked in all sizes, but I don’t know how many sizes they have available. I wouldn’t wait around if it’s something you want. Also, you can sign up to get their emails and get 10% off your order.

I’ve worn this sweater a few different times with various pants, but my favorite combination is with black jeans. I just think it’s such a pleasing color pairing.

The jeans are my go-to AG legging ankle jeans in the super black, and I can’t say enough good things about them. They’re stretchy and comfortable, they never bag out or lose their shape, and they don’t fade. I’ve had mine for a couple of years, and I wear them at least once a week during fall and winter, and they still look like new.

I carried this leopard clutch for a little something extra. There are a lot of dupes around, but none hold a candle to this bag. It is truly gorgeous and such good quality. It goes on sale occasionally, and I’ll be sure to keep an eye on it for you!

I wore black to-the-knee boots to keep the bottom portion of the outfit cohesive. Tan boots would be just as cute, I just opted for the black this time.

These suede boots were a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchase, and they sold out. The brand is Blondo, and you can’t go wrong with any of their boots.

The best part is, they’re suede AND they’re weatherproof. Here in Pennsylvania, we get a good 6 months of cold and often wet weather, so stylish boots that are weather proof definitely come in handy.

I kept my accessories simple with large hoop earrings and my silver link bracelet.

We shot these pictures outside of an old barn in Valley Forge National Park, and I love how the green and white backdrop sets off my green and black outfit.

  1. Love your outfit. Definitely a go to look for me. What size sweater are you wearing?  I can see getting a lot of use out of it.

  2. Love green and black! Hope you don’t get the layer of ice we just got 😫😫 kids are happy though, school is cancelled!

  3. Perfect outfit! My comfort zone too! Ordered loft green cowl you styled and will use that in this combo. We are expecting snow tonight, so excited!

  4. That sweater looks so cozy! Throw a vest over it and it’s the perfect Black Friday running around shopping outfit.
You’re excited about snow?! Why? It’s slippery, cold and you have to shovel. Brrrr

      1. It is pretty! I love to watch it fall, so quietly covering the ground and building on the branches. I always walk during the first snowfall. It has a quietness about it, as the world is wrapped in white. You made me stop and think…

      2. I agree…..I’m so jealous.  We’ve been cold in Oregon but not cold enough to snow.  🙁  I love having some snow.  We never get enough to be worried about for too long.  Love your outfit…….love the green sweater and looks so cozy.  Did you get the snow?  I’m late replying.  🙂  Thanks for sending the LIVE….I did look for it yesterday. 🙂  Enjoy them.  I will watch it tomorrow AM.

  5. Love the look. The leopard clutch purse just adds that extra touch to jazz the outfit up. The first snowfall is very pretty. ❄ Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and the pretty views.
Its around March – April that we are sick of the snow, ice and cold and ready for spring!!

  6. No snow here yet it’s been close.. We had -12 degrees Celsius yesterday with the wind chill and it’s a cool one again today but sunny… love the color combo and the pop of leopard print… I’m a fan;)

  7. Hi Jo-Lynne! What a beautiful outfit this is. Quick question – how do you get the cowl neck to lay around your neck like you have pictured? The SocialThreads site shows the neckline different. I prefer the way you have it shown.

  8. Love the color combination of green, black and Leopard now. Also enjoyed your FB live yesterday and so glad you mentioned the reflection of your light in the window because I always thought it was some cool yard art lol. Loved your new office chair too but maybe some solid curtains would go better?

  9. Hi Jo-Lynne!  Love this outfit and love the leopard addition with the clutch!  We’re still having mid-70s – 80 degree weather here in So. Cali, so I have to “picture” myself in outfits like this!  :0) I do appreciate and like the posts you’ve done that include outfit ideas for us warmer climate gals…I ordered the black jeans and sadly, they look awful on me!  :0(  I ordered my usual size and they are sausage-like.  I’ve never had AG jeans, though, so maybe I’m supposed to size up as a general rule?  Also, I’m pear shaped with shorter, slightly thicker legs…So maybe these aren’t for me.  I am on a serious hunt for an excellent pair of black jeans that don’t bag OR fade!  If you have any other recommendations, please share!

    1. This is why I haven’t ordered the black jeans yet. I have no idea what size to order.  All jeans are so different.  I sooo want the NO fading part.

    2. They’re legging jeans so they’re supposed to fit really snug. You may like a different AG style. This pair has a 12″ leg opening, as opposed to 10″ but they’re not ankle jeans. The inseam is 31″ as opposed to 28″ – https://shopstyle.it/l/Vcoh

      Here’s the ankle length: https://shopstyle.it/l/Vcoo

This Paige pair has an 11″ leg opening and a 30″ inseam. Paige shouldn’t fade either – https://shopstyle.it/l/Vcok

Finding great jeans is really a trial and error situation, so it’s worth it to order a few pairs, and even a few sizes, and try them out and return what doesn’t work.

  10. Well, you aren’t the only one running late today.  I left the house @ 8, got home around 2, got the groceries put away, finished preparing for Larry’s son to arrive tomorrow, then had to change and head out hunting.  I wonder if y’all did get snow.  My SIL in Columbia, MO, got a surprising 6” today, that they were not expecting.  I do like your outfit!  The style of the sweater is so nice!
