Introducing . . . Everyday Icing {Giveaway}

There is a new phenomenon in mom owned businesses: Facebook Shops! Who knew, right?

I was recently contacted by an old friend, the sweet Kimba of A Soft Place to Land, and she wanted to tell me about her new venture. It’s called Everyday Icing, and she sells fashion jewelry directly on Facebook. She describes direct sales on Facebook as a fun way to combine social media and shopping — and you know how much I love both of those.

I was curious to see what kinds of products she has in her shop so I clicked over and fell instantly in love with all the pretty accessories. Accessorizing is something I struggle with, but I’m trying to do better so I love how she groups things that work well together.

Their sales take place every Monday at 9PM EST on their facebook page: www.facebook.com/everydayicingauctions, and some weeks they have special themed sales on Thursday too . . . things like Scarf-A-Palooza and Nautical Night. And to make it even more awesome, 10% of their profits go directly to Compassion International. Compassion is an organization dear to my heart because for six years, we have been sponsoring a child in Uganda named Samuel. He is 14 years old now, and he and my 13-year-old son write back and forth regularly. I have always been impressed with Compassion, and I love knowing that a portion of my purchases are going to such a worthy organization.

Kimba sent me a few pieces to sample, and I’ve already been enjoying trying them out. I love how these pieces work together — the Filigree Button Earrings, Filigree Tag Necklace and Enamel Bracelet are all from Everyday Icing.

This blue Double Strand Candy Necklace is super fun. It would look good with so many things. I wore it with this pale yellow sweater and white shorts, but it would look fabulous on white or black too.

And I’m LOVING this blue-and-white striped infinity scarf! The colors are so fresh — perfect for summer. You might recognize the Bubble Bracelet from my last Daily Mom Style post. And once again, that white-and-gold enamel bangle is also from Everyday Icing. It seems to go with everything!

Each week Everyday Icing offers up 20-30 different items for a fixed price (usually between $12-$25) and shipping is usually FREE! They post pictures of the items for sale along with a desciption, price and the quantity that they have. There are limited quantities of each item so when they’re gone, they’re gone.

To make a purchase, you “like” their facebook page and then register directly on that page. Then, all you have to do to bid is simply comment “SOLD” on the item that you want to purchase. There’s a tab on their facebook page called How to Bid that explains exactly how shopping on facebook works, or this graphic sums it up rather nicely.
