Fall Trends to Try: Snake Print Blouse Now & Later

Happy Friday, friends!!! Cyndi and I are continuing our weekly collab, styling fall trends for now and later, and today it’s all about snake print!

If snake print gives you the creeps, just imagine this look with a leopard tank or even a moody floral — both patterns are also trending right now and can easily be subbed for snake.

My snake print blouse is from Lord + Taylor, and it qualifies for their Buy More, Save More sale.

It’s a nice work wear piece because of the wide shoulder straps and modest v-neck, but I put together more of a date night look because that better fits my lifestyle.

Paul and I love to go out to eat, and now that the kids are older and we don’t need a babysitter, we go out a lot. Working from home, it’s easy to get sloppy during the day, so I like to level it up a bit when we go out.

I styled this blouse for now with black jeans and peep-toe block heel sandals. (I’m wearing a small in the blouse, for size reference.)

These shoes also qualify for the L+T Buy More, Save More Sale, and they’re 30% off at Macy’s and Nordstrom.

STYLE TIP: When you wear black pants and black shoes together, it visually extends the line of the leg, making you appear thinner and taller. #yesplease

I’ve been wearing these sandals a lot lately because they’re so comfortable and easy to walk in. They’re TTS; I have the 8.

As for my black jeans, I’m wearing the AG legging ankle jeans that I’ve had for years. There are a few other sizes at L+T (and they’re on sale) but I fear they’re being discontinued.

I also recommend these Joe’s Jeans (on sale at L+T) or these budget-friendly LOFT jeans (40% off) for black skinnies with a similar silhouette.

I accessorized with hoop earrings and two Victoria Emerson bracelets — the crystal ice on black leather wrap with the Nerja mini boho bracelet, but I think this blouse could use a necklace. I’d wear this or even this (with different earrings, probably.)

To style this look for later, I added a moto jacket and swapped out the sandals for booties. Simple!

This jacket is Level99, but unfortunately I can’t find it online anywhere. I like the soft microsuede fabric, and the color is perfect with the taupe tones in the snake print top. This BlankNYC jacket in the Fawn would look great as well.

My satchel is old, but I still carry it from time to time. I love the silhouette; it reminds me of the Givenchy Antigona.

I don’t always match metals, but I like how the hardware on my bag works with the silver in my jacket as well as my jewelry.

My sock booties are Club Monaco, but they don’t seem to have a similar version this year. I’ll link up a few other options below.

The key with sock booties is to get them so they fit really snug to the ankle, so you can wear your skinny jeans over top. I like how it creates a nice, long, lean leg line.

This is an outfit I’ll wear out to dinner with my husband or girlfriends, or to a blogging conference or event when the weather cools down a bit more.

If you don’t care for the snake print blouse, how about snake print booties? Snake print in a shoe is more classic and timeless than snake print in a blouse or dress . . . so that’s another option.

I know, I know, some of you are going to say you hate snake print no matter what, but you might want to look away because I’m obsessed with snake print shoes at the moment.

This outfit isn’t really now or later… it’s either/or depending on your climate. I actually wore this outfit with different jeans on Wednesday because we’re having some beautiful weather right now.

I love the details on this snap cuff tee. It’s also incredibly soft and lightweight, so perfect for transition season.

When I first tried it on, I didn’t think I was going to like the fit because it was so voluminous, but I did a big ole front tuck, and suddenly it took on a whole new silhouette.

It has an amazing drape, and I just love the exposed seams and the snap cuffs. I’m wearing a small.

I accessorized with a layered necklace, and I carried a grey crossbody that I think coordinates really nicely with these booties.

My bag is old, but this one is the same style, just a different color combo. It’s also 25% off right now with code GET25.

As for the booties, you’ve seen them before, and it’s a shame they sold out because they are soooo good. Not only are they beautiful and coordinate with so many outfits, but they’re super soft and comfortable inside. I wore them all day yesterday and my feet were so happy.

Of course, snake print booties are everywhere right now, so I’ll link up some other options for you.

You may notice that I did not match the hardware on my bag to my jewelry in this case. I liked the bag and the booties together, so I just went with the mixed metals. No big deal!

  1. This is a great outfit on you, with or without the jacket. The print of the blouse seems a bit on the abstract side and not so in-your-face-python. It’s a nice option for those teetering on the fence with snakeskin. My feet are on the no side but I can handle this look better than most. No on the python boots 😉.  Love the black leggings and black open toe shoes together.  Yes, elongating. Love it.

  2. At my former job, anything sleeveless was a no-no. If you wore anything sleeveless, you had to wear a cardigan or jacket over it.  Hot.Texas.Summers. I hated it.  And I had so many cute sleeveless dresses I couldn’t wear. Now I work where the boss’ wife wears shorts and flip-flops!

  3. You could never look sloppy! 😉
Perish the thought. Like both looks. The moto jacket is lovely and adds a nice touch. Happy Friday!

  4. It took me forever to get on board with leopard and when I saw the snake print trend, my stomach turned. But, you killed it with both these looks! I love that top, still trendy but a bit more subtle. I love it. Great post!

  5. I HAD that same shirt. I say HAD because that thing kept static electricity soooo bad and nothing helped. It was so irritating that I finally had to call it and threw it in the trash! I hate to waste money but when even static guard won’t help, something is wrong with that material.  🤷‍♀️

Love the second outfit! And I love that moto jacket. Looks like the one you had last year … I so wanted it but alas it didn’t happen as Nordstrom sold out of medium size very early.

  6. I especially “love” the snap cuff top with the booties on you. You look like you are a French girl on the Riviera!

  7. I love the blue toned snake print. It’s not an obvious snake print for those that are creeped out. I’m one of those in the LIKE snake print camp. I bought a coat and feel so chic in it, even with jeans. Bring on all the snake print!
That long sleeve tee is so different. I like the snap sleeves and reverse seams. I need that!

  8. Love both these looks… I added a small snakeskin handbag to try the trend. I was at Marshall’s today and tried on the Steve Madden snakeskin sneaker slip ons for $49.99 I was tempted but came away empty handed. Hope I don’t regret it..
    Happy weekend

  9. I love all the outfits, especially when adding the moto jacket as a completer piece. I find it funny how leopard and snake skin are “trending” now. It seems to me that they have always been around and are considered to be neutral pieces. I have a few pieces from 5-10 years that I still wear.

  10. I know there’s been a lot of talk lately about kick flares, but these are amazing. I bought them in the store.  The fit and look is amazing – worth at least checking out.

  11. I love the long lean line that the black jeans and sock booties creates!  You look fabulous!!  The long sleeve tee with the snaps on the sleeves is so cute.  When my tummy is more pronounced I steer away from exposing it with a front tuck, so I’d have to wear that top on good days.  😉. My snake booties are begging to be worn.  Guess I’ll have to ignore the temps and go for it.  Have a great Saturday!
