Fashion Over 40 | Daily Mom Style 07.23.14

We made it! I’m blogging from Maine! Yes, I’m even posting Daily Mom Style from Maine. I’m certifiable. I don’t have many, and the ones I have aren’t very inventive as I was traveling during most of the past week. But I suppose that’s the point of posting daily pictures. Some weeks just aren’t that exciting.

If you’re new here, this post isn’t a good example of my typical “What I Wore” posts. I try to have more variety than this, but I was traveling and I wore a lot of the same pieces. You can see all my Daily Mom Style posts for more of my over 40 fashion and summer style inspiration.

“Family Dinner Out” Outfit

Before we left for vacation, I wore this outfit to go to my son’s rock band performance and then out to dinner with my family. Both the top and shorts I recently picked up on big sales. The top is no longer available, although White House Black Market still has a lot of sale items to choose from.

Wonder star bangle, Chrysalis expandable charm bracelet // Pietra II FitFlops

Road Trip Outfit

When I was on my way to the Color Run on Saturday morning, I got word from my uncle that he had scored us 5 box seats at the Red Sox game along with a stadium tour before the game. That meant we had to quickly adjust our travel plans, which were originally to leave on Sunday morning and stop in Rhode Island to see friends on our way to Maine. We were thrilled, of course, but we knew if we were going to make it to the game, we had to pack and leave on Saturday night. No worries, this is how we roll.

I texted my husband to notify him of the change in plans, I participated in The Color Run and performed my duties as an ambassador for Shout (more on that to come…. SO FUN!) and then hurried home and started packing for two weeks in New England. We were on the road by 3:30 in the afternoon! CRAZY!!!

So. Much. Fun.

Anyway, moving right along…. I wore this outfit traveling on Saturday afternoon. I’m cheating because I didn’t actually take this picture on Saturday. This is from a previous What I Wore post, but it will suffice!

What To Wear To a Red Sox Game

We got as far as Connecticut on Saturday night and stayed in a hotel in Manchester. Then we got up on Sunday morning and headed to Boston for the Red Sox game. Of course we had to get all decked out in red and blue. We got there early enough to catch Kansas City practicing, and one of the players threw R a ball. She was THRILLED.

What I Wore: Mossimo Long & Lean tanktop, Target // cuffed denim shorts, old // silver Orthaheel Mia sandals // Tory Burch Amanda Crossbody// necklace, Stitch Fix

Sightseeing Outfit

We stayed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Sunday night and got up on Monday and toured the Strawbery Banke Museum before driving on up the coast into Maine. Yes, I am wearing the same shorts, shoes and necklace as the past two days. It’s called traveling light. Or, um, compensating for all the space my hair and makeup products take up in my suitcase. I did take the time to switch out my bracelets!

I wanted to take a photo of my outfit yesterday, but I never got around to it. This is my vaca, after all!!! I’m mostly sitting around the house looking at the lake so that doesn’t exactly lend itself to high fashion, but it sure is a fine view.

Tonight my mom is babysitting so my husband and I can go out to dinner. Alone. I cannot wait. No kids bickering, asking questions, teasing and interrupting. Bliss!!!!
