Fashion Friday :: My New Swimsuit Cover-Up

Last week I decided that it was high time I update my swimsuit cover-up. I always admire cute swimsuit coverups on other women, but I admit that mine are horribly dowdy. I don’t know why, but this is the one area of fashion where I haven’t kept up with the times. I still wear those baggy cotton dresses that are shaped more like an oversized tee-shirt.

Inspired by Whitney’s Fashion Friday post a few weeks back on Pool Cover-Ups Under $30, I ordered this Cotton Voile Tunic Coverup Dress from Target. Yes, it’s from the Junior Department. Don’t judge.

Isn’t it adorable? I can’t wait to wear it. The price was right too.

I am at the age (or my kids are) where I don’t usually have to get in the water if I don’t want to, so I wanted something cute and stylish that I can wear over my bathing suit when we’re at the pool. I might not even take it off!

In the market for a swimsuit cover up? Here are some other cute ones for your consideration.

  1. I get stuff from the junior department at Target all the time too! (obvi. lol) Ha! The price is always right and the designs are always so much cuter! Love. I totally think the picture from Target.com doesn’t do it justice either – looks even better in person!

  2. I definitely do still have to get in, or at least be prepared to, when swimming with all the kids. With a skirted bottom and full tankini top I don’t really feel like I need a coverup though. Cute ones you featured!

  3. Love those choices! My kids are definitely still at the age I need to be in the pool with them, so I don’t get a lot of time to look cute in a cover-up. Is “adorable cover up” a good enough reason to plan an overnight to the beach for just my husband and me? I think it might be…

  4. Thanks for the tip! I have been meaning to get some lounge around outside in the gazebo dresses (I have plenty of beach cover ups – my fav is the white one from Athleta). This reminded me to go to Old Navy and get a couple cute dresses on sale (plus I had a bunch of gift cards so I didn’t have to pay a dime – yay for free!!).
