Fashion Friday: Rain Boots

It is cold and rainy here in eastern Pennsylvania today, and my girls both went to school sporting their colorful rain boots. My older daughter does not appreciate being featured on the blog, but my youngest is quite content to be the star of the show, so she let me snap this picture of her before I took her to school this morning.

I don’t have rain boots, and I never have, but I think I may remedy that situation today. I’m meeting my good friend and business partner, Melissa, at the mall today. We’re getting makeovers (photos to come!) and having lunch, and I think I might have to add rain boot shopping to our agenda.

Of course, it’s easier just to click over to Zappos and shop from the warmth of home.  I’m not sure if I want to stick to a bright solid or a fun pattern.

You can’t go wrong with the Kamik Ellie.  I love the red with black trim.

Or plain gray is always pretty and goes with anything.

Of course, there’s always Burberry.

I also love these.

How about you? Do you have rain boots? Are they solid or a fun pattern?

  1. Love those – and my BOYS have cute rain boots until they are about 7. . .then I’m stuck. . .I still have all my 1st’s firefighter boots that my 4 YO is now enjoying. But the 10 YO – gets wet feet. . .

I have a pair of Pink Sperry boots that I love =)

  2. I’ve got some solid black ones that I love. The price was right (about $30) and black goes with everything. Our school is (in)famous for having tons of muddy puddles when it rains. It’s really flat and there’s just no where for the water to go. And, our kids have to walk outside to go anywhere on campus – rain boots are a MUST!

  3. So CUTE!! I think I may need a pair too! I absolutely LOVE your fashion posts. You always have great ideas and suggestions that are current yet appropriate for moms/women of all ages! I also really enjoy your posts on real food, tried and true recipes, and your recent gluten free diet. You are one of the first blogs I found on real food, simple and so informative. Your posts have helped change how I feed my family in so many ways! I hope you continue to write on the things that are important to you. I truly enjoy and learn from them all! Thanks for all you do!

  4. Jo-Lynne, I’m certain that I would buy the grey ones for myself (for the reason you mentioned!) but, with that said, the red ones really caught my eye so I cast my vote in their direction! BTW, your daughter is adorable & my grandgirls love ‘Hello Kitty’ too (they still refer to her as “Hollow” Kitty … just too cute to correct! 😉

  5. I so want rainboots! I loved those gray ones and polkadot ones you found. I think I’d love a fun print one because rainy days need some sunshine somewhere but it might be nice to have some “grown up” gray boots as well.

  6. I love my wellies. I have pink heart ones. I am so not a heart person, but they’re just so fun. Can’t wait to see what you get… and how the makeovers are. So fun!

  7. I do have a pair of basic green wellies that I wear for practical reasons like gardening & going in the chicken coop. Not exactly stylish!
I have been toying with the idea of getting some fun looking rain boots. I like both the red & grey pair, but would love to find a print that suits me.

  8. I have striped ones, and I highly recommend L.L. Bean’s wellie warmers 🙂

This is a little off topic (stemming from your guest post of yesterday, but kind of ties into a make-over), but what is your skin regimen? What facial cleansing products do you use? (That is, if you’re willing to share!)

    1. Sure! Just before I began writing for Therapon, I went to Sephora and bought a whole new skincare regimen. I wrote about it here – https://bit.ly/fLtnJ5. I love it. Then I got the Theraderm Skin Renewal System from Therapon, and I tried that, and I love it too. I recently used up my Theraderm and went back to the stuff I got at Sephora. Both have these fabulous exfoliant pads that you use after your cleanser and before your serum and moisturizer.

I highly recommend either system, but I also want to stress that everyone’s skin is different and you really need to find what works best for you.

      1. By the way. I have dry skin with a propensity to hormonal acne (i.e. it generally occurs at THAT time of the month.) In case that helps…

  9. I am so glad your youngest still lets you post pictures because I have a boy and need to experience the cute-girl-in-head-to-toe-pink-ness vicariously. lol
Loving those glossy plum boots from the link Sara posted. You should def get some boots if only to enjoy puddle jumping again:)

    1. I tried on black ones at Nordstrom yesterday. (They didn’t have them in red in my size.) They were really stiff and uncomfortable, and they aren’t cheap, so I left them there. 🙁 I’m still on the hunt, though. I was perusing Amazon this morning.

  10. I don’t have any rain boots, but those grey ones are really nice! I like how they are somewhat metallic.

Your daughter looks adorable, by the way!!
