Fall is here, and it’s serious this time! Whew, it’s been cold. This is about the time of year I start looking at Zillow for homes in warmer climates. But I would miss sweater weather, I suppose.

This week I’m loving my fall looks. I’ve done a bit of shopping, which makes it even more fun to get dressed in the mornings. Take a look!

leopard-and-moto

I’m working backwards through the week; it’s just the way the pictures loaded! This I wore to church on Sunday. I picked up the cotton coated moto jacket, the animal print scarf and the grey tee at the LOFT earlier in the weekend.

I put them together with my plum colored skinnies and black riding boots, and I carried my favorite grey satchel. I didn’t feel like the outfit needed much jewelry so I just wore silver stud earrings and a garnet ring.

Shop the look: coated cotton moto jacket (LOFT) // animal spot scarf (LOFT) // long-sleeved tee (LOFT) // plum skinnies (old) // black riding boots c/o Naturalizer // Marc by Marc Jacobs Small Classic Q Shopper in Warm Zinc, discontinued color {current colors}

I wore this next outfit just working from home all day. I was sent this “long skinny tee” from Shop Adorn and I absolutely LOVE it. This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to go with leggings. It is so long, it’s almost a dress, but it fits like a tee. Mine is in “meadow” which is no longer available, but there are TONS of colors to choose from.

I actually wore it layered under this grey drapey sweater for most of the day.

Shop the look: Hard Tail Long Skinny Tee c/o Shop Adorn // gray drapey sweater (verrry old) // MUST HAVE LEGGINGS (only $36 at Nordstrom) // Tara M. Tiffany Ankle Boot (similar) // Stella & Dot pendant necklace (old) // soiree stud earrings

This next outfit I wore out for an evening of dinner and shopping with some girlfriends. I got the sweater at a local shop a few weeks ago, and I was inspired by Pinterest to pair it with my white jeans. I’m so excited. LOVE this look.

I wore my new Frye Phillip Harness boots. They are like bookends to this outfit, keeping it undeniably fall while wearing white jeans. I’m LOVING these boots. I wear them every chance I get. I never got what all the hype was about until I put them on for the first time. Not only are they pure gorgeous, which I knew — I’d always admired them — but what I didn’t realize until I put my hands on a pair was that they are leather all the way through. There is no nylon lining inside like the other leather boots I own. They are just pure leather. I literally put my head inside and take a deep whiff before I put them on each time. These are an investment piece, no doubt about it. I admit to having a twinge of buyer’s remorse when I sprung for them so impulsively, but they are worth every penny. I’d give up the rest of my boots for this one pair. If you’ve been thinking about adding a pair to your wardrobe, I don’t think you will regret it. And after all… Christmas is coming!

Shopping Tip: If you have larger calves, you might like the popular Melissa style. It’s classy and edgy and comes in a variety of colors. I tried them on, and they just didn’t work well for me. The sales associate suggested the Phillip, and as soon as I had them on, I knew they were the ones for me. These definitely fit better for those of us with smaller calves, and I like how they hug the calf and give it a shapely curve. Another one to consider for a more rugged look, the Veronica Slouch. I like that they’re a bit shorter without being an ankle boot. In fact, these are calling my name in the grey soft vintage…

  1. I Am getting an irritating and recurrant State Farm pop up add. I cannot scroll smoothly through your blog anymore.
Is this a result of Apple update?
This will cause me to unsubscribe if it continues. I have always enjoyed aspects of your blog, but now it is just irritating. I thought you might want the feedback.
    Sincerely,
    Tami

      1. I look at your blog every day and the last couple of weeks there is a Moen popup that if I don’t catch the x to close it quickly, it takes me to their design a faucet page and I’m no longer on your page. So I have to re-enter your website and then quickly close the pop up. I’m on an ipad.

          1. I should have started by saying I love your blog (hopefully it’s implied in that I look at it every day and that I go back in after the pop up takes over!)

  2. You look amazing and I’ll be enjoying fall vicariously! You would miss the clothes and the beautiful mums. It was 96 here yesterday in Dallas.

  3. I love the long sleeve tee, I need more things I can wear with my leggings. But, I got an error when I tried the link. Also, does the local shop you got the sweater at have a name? lol

    1. LOL, yes, I was in a hurry last night! I got it at Best Friends in Phoenixville. I also meant to check the brand name but I never remember when I’m upstairs. Annoying that the link doesn’t work to the tee. Thanks for letting me know!

  4. LOVE the baseball tee….any way to purchase without being a member of Stitch-Fix?? Also, the Emma flats….are they true to size and comfortable? Thanks!!

    1. I don’t know of a way to get that tee outside of Stitch Fix, and if you signed up now, you probably wouldn’t be able to get it. I don’t think they stock a ton of different sizes b/c they want everyone to get different stuff. It’s really fun to see what they send you, though!

The Emma flats are SUPER comfortable. I really love them. They have a nice padding to them, and they are stable and stay on your feet easily. HIGHLY recommend.

  5. I always love your looks, but this week I really love them! I’ve decided to buy the Hue leggings. I wear a size 8 and I’m 5’9 – everyone says to size down, but I’m afraid a small will be too small. What’s your opinion?

  6. Such great outfits!!! Wish I could borrow your closet for a week or two… :-).

And I love those Frye boots – clicked on the link but they are unfortunately way out of my price range. 🙁

And I gotta second the comment on the annoying Moen faucet ad I get when on your site on my iPad. It won’t go away!!

  7. Jo-Lynne,
I love your first outfit so much that I just bought the jacket, tee, and scarf. They are also having a 50 percent off sale so SCORE!

  8. Be still my heart! I LOVE those two tops, the one from the local shop and stitch fix. Do you have brand names for those? That one from stitch fix especially needs to be in my life! 🙂

  9. Wouldn’t you know it! The blog retains my info this time! What’s with that? 🙂
I’m glad to see that the fly-away sweater is still in style this year b/c I adore them, and have several. And I want scarves to stay in, b/c I make them and sell them at market. These are my style interests – haha 🙂

  10. Jolynne,I love your style, thank god I found you,Its so nice to see someone our age with a great sense of style. So many of my friends have just let themselves go.Thanks again, looking forward to more posts.:):):)

  11. Love the long skinny tee but the link is not working. 🙁

Also, I love your coffee talk posts. I have not had much time to comment lately because life with 4 under 6 and working full time is kicking my tushie but I want you to know that I read every day!

  12. Beautiful looks all week! That coated moto jacket is awesome!! So nice looking. I love the white jeans with the boots too.
Thanks for linking up at Whatcha Wearing Wednesday!

  13. Jo-Lynne – I really love reading your Blog, esp. your Fashion over 40 since I am in my late 40’s. My style is classic and comfortable yet on trend. I can’t wait to check out the tops at Shop Adorn that you just wore. I find that I have some of the items you have worn already in my closet as I am a CABI and Loft fan. If you ever want to try some shapewear under your fabulous wardrobe, let me know and I will send you a cami from Ruby Ribbon to try!

    Thanks, Lisa Frese
