Fashion Over 40 | Casual Winter Outfits for Moms

Welcome back to my weekly Fashion Over 40 post where I share my recent winter outfits and and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web!

Casual Winter Outfits for Moms: Get outfit ideas and wearable fashion tips to keep it fabulous after 40!

I’m knee deep in gift guides and our 12 Days of Outfits series so I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet. Of course, you know how that goes with me . . . I may be sweet, but I’m rarely short. Ha!

I’m loving this outfit. I ordered this sweater on impulse from Nordstrom and I’m so glad I did. It is PERFECT for wearing with leggings. (And it is ON SALE!)

These are my go-to leggings, and they’re currently ON SALE. I’ve worn mine so much, they’re starting to show it so I think I’m going to order a new pair while they’re marked down.

This is what I wore to church on Sunday. This cape is from LOFT a few years ago, and it’s still a favorite. I love it with the red jeans, even though supposedly red jeans are now out of vogue. (I still love mine!!) I prefer this outfit with my wedge boots, but I’m still not quite sure I should be wearing heels so I wore my Naturalizer Janele riding boots which were sent to me by Naturalizer to style for a contest.

I wore this outfit yesterday to hang out with a friend and cart my kids around after school. I picked up this red sweater last year at Banana Republic, and it’s one of my favorites. I love the cable detail on the cowl neck.

  1. I love that purple sweater and noticed it’s on sale! For reference purposes, would you mind telling me what size your wearing? Thanks!

  2. Thanks for the heads up about the red jeans! I had no idea they were not longer in style! I haven’t worn mine in a while because…well, just because. But I still have them and like to wear them. My favorite outfit is the poncho. I like the brown with the black boots! Looking you up on FB now!

    1. They’re sorta on their way out, I guess. But it depends on where you live. Out here in suburbia, I think they’re still fine. I still love mine, but they’re starting to fade, as I’ve worn them A TON. 🙂

    2. I have red cords that fit and red jeans that I bought b/c I loved the shade of red but are too small and it has been my goal to get into them (for the past 2 years… ugh). If I get into those jeans anytime soon, I’m wearing them… ☺
