Fashion Over 40 #WhatIWore 12.17.14

Welcome back to my weekly Fashion Over 40 post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web! Or…. that’s the idea.

You guys. This has been A Week. There was no opportunity for good photos in New York City. I only had my smartphone, and the lighting was dim everywhere we went. And when we were outside, it was so crowded it wasn’t worth trying. Plus, we were always in a frenzy trying to get to the next place and keep from getting run over.

I got home on Sunday night, and a crew of painters arrived on Monday morning bright and early. They’ve been in my house all week. Plus I’m in a mad dash to get everything done by Christmas. SO! I’ve mostly been wearing stuff like this.

Fashion Over 40 | Cozy Winter Outfit

These Sorel boots are my new best friends. The Hue Wide Waistband Leggings are the best leggings EVER and they are on sale right now — 25% off, so $27!!!! Boom!! The tunic and scarf are old. Sorry!

I wore this around New York. I KNOW. But I had to wear sneakers because of my ankle, so it made sense. I really love this Nora Jacket from Fabletics. It’s cute and comfy and easy to wear around when you’re just at home and driving kids to and from.

Fashion Over 40: Activewear for the Modern Mom

As far as the rest of my week is concerned, I can pilfer a few pictures from previous posts. Like, this is the outfit I wore on the train to NYC on Friday and to the Rockettes and American Girl Place for dinner. The sweater is from Nordstrom. It’s gone now, but they always have similar ones. I love how versatile it is. You can wear a necklace or a scarf or both. You can layer it over a button-down shirt or under a leather jacket. The pants are my ponte knit pants, also old. I hear LOFT has a pair of these that are really cute right now.

Fashion Over 40: Classy Winter Outfit

And this is the outfit I wore to see Matilda on Broadway. The sweater is sold out, unfortunately. The pants are  the DL1961 ‘Florence’ Instasculpt Skinny Jeans in Lourdes wash. They are a coated cotton, and I love them. They really take jeans up a notch or two and make an outfit dressy without being fussy. The Sketchers Felicity flats are purely for comfort. The red bag is old, and the Stella & Dot bracelets are the Inspiration Bangle, Pave Arrow Cuff & Pyramid Stud Cuff.

Fashion Over 40: Casual Holiday Outfit

Since I’ve been home, it’s been yoga pants and sweatshirts for me!

Momma said there’d be days like these . . . there’d be days like these, my momma said!

  1. Hi Jo-Lynne!

I love these outfits but totally feel ya on not having an opportunity to take photos! I am going to NYC over the holidays and I am looking forward to the opportunity of taking photos in the snow! But I guess that should show you have naivee I am because I have never really spent extended time in the snow, soooo I have no idea the actual practicality of doing so! Wish me luck 🙂 and looking forward to following along int he future!
