Fitness Gift Ideas with Athleta

When I think of stylish, high quality fitness gear, Athleta is one of the first retailers that comes to mind.

You can always count on them for modern styles with high performance output. I have some of their leggings that are going on 10 years and still look like new.

I’ve had some requests for fitness gift ideas and recommendations for cold weather workout gear that will help us stay active outdoors all winter, so I’ve rounded up my top picks.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve // thirteen (not pictured) // fourteen (not pictured)

one // This is the perfect puffer for wearing to and from workouts, or with your athleisure and casual wear. It’s lightweight and breathable, as well as water-repellent.

I love the mix of feminine lines and rugged/sporty puffer design. Also notice the high collar for extra warmth. This jacket also comes in petite and tall sizes.

two // These trendy camo print leggings are one of Athleta’s tried and true styles — the Elation Tight.

These are made of their buttery soft Powervita fabric, and they’re best for yoga or gym workouts. The back drop-in pocket will actually fit a smartphone. They also come in tall, petite and plus sizes.

Pair these tights with a performance tank top and top it off with the ultra soft Pranayama Wrap (#7) or Cozy Karma Asym Pullover (#3).

three // This cozy pullover has a plush interior and a wrap front detail with flattering high-low hemline. It’s perfect for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring, or it’s a nice topper to your tank top and tights post-workout.

It comes in a ton of colors and it’s available in regular, petite, plus, and tall sizes.

four // The old wives’ tale that you lose 50% of your body heat through your head is a myth, but it’s still important to wear a hat when exercising or exploring outdoors in cold weather. It’s just a whole lot more comfortable!

This ribbed confetti beanie is as cute as it is practical. It’s made of a wool blend for warmth and softness.

five // I always struggle to keep my neck and mouth warm when I’m running in the extreme cold, and this balaclava/training shirt combo is the perfect solution.

The hood provides full face and neck coverage, and the seamless fabric prevents chafing. This is definitely going on my personal holiday wish list!

six // This lightweight hooded sweatshirt made of brushed performance fabric is perfect for daytime walks and light hiking in milder fall/winter temperature. Add a vest for extra warmth.

seven // I have this super soft wrap in the white, and I’m thinking I may need to add a color to my closet. It comes in so many pretty hues, but I’m especially crushing on this Victorian Berry.

It’s made of Athleta’s softest fabric, Nirvana, and it has thumbholes and side pockets. This makes the perfect topper for your favorite tank and leggings while lounging and noshing on all the holiday goodies you’re about to make.

eight // I recently picked up this Momentum Heather Tank for running and gym workouts, and I love how it’s fitted but not skintight, and it has such a flattering design in the fabric.

The seamless construction minimizes chafing, and it also has grips on the inside hem that prevents it from riding up when running.

Best of all, it has XT2® Anti-Odor Technology to eliminate odor without the chemicals.

nine // When it’s not cold enough for a hat, but you want to protect your ears, this reflective headband is the perfect solution. I always run with one of these when it starts to get cold. It’s also nice for hiking and other outdoor activities. Makes a great stocking stuffer!

ten // I just ordered this Momentum Top, and it’s perfect for running on a mild fall day, or for layering under a jacket when it gets colder.

It also has the grips on the inside so it doesn’t ride up, and that XT2® Anti-Odor Technology.

eleven //These tights are my favorites for running or high impact workouts. The SuperSonic compression fabric offers plenty of support, and it has 2 stash pockets and a back waistband pocket for all of your essentials.

twelve // These training gloves make a great stocking stuffer idea for anyone who does regular lifting. Mine have saved my hands on numerous occasions.

thirteen // I found this after we put the collage together, but I had to include it because I have a jacket very similar to this that I wear all the time in the winter, and I haven’t been able to find it again until now.

Besides the fact that it’s super flattering, it is also the perfect jacket for running in cold weather because it fits close to the body, it’s stretchy to move with you, and it has Primaloft® Eco insulation for weightless warmth.

There are also zip pockets to secure your essentials. I often drop my phone in one of them and carry my rescue inhaler in the other. Wear it over a base layer such as the Momentum Top (#10) with Ranier Tights (#14) for optimum warmth.

fourteen // Finally, Athleta’s Ranier Tights are your answer to cold weather walking and running. They have plush SuperSonic fabric with a soft, brushed interior.

Plus, zip pockets, a back drop-in pocket that accommodates a smartphone, and reflective details for your early morning sweat sesh.

If you’re shopping for someone who loves to stay active or need to upgrade your own cold weather fitness gear, I hope these recommendations are helpful!

And remember, Athleta has free shipping every day on orders of $50+ and free returns on all orders.

  1. Oh so many good things! I’m thinking the high-low pullover for me (gotta check out all the colors), and the balaclava/training shirt for my daughter-in-law.

I love Athleta…their fabrics are amazing!

  2. Good Morning, Jo-Lynn
I can attest to a couple of your products this am; the Flurry Force Pimaloft Jacket and the Flurry Balaclava Rib shirt. Unlike you, I am not a runner but I am a Nordic Skier in the Pacific Northwest and both those items are what I wear on my top half when I am skiing. The quilting on the jacket keeps the wind out while the fabric arms gives me some breathability and the shirt is just perfect for keeping my neck and face warm. I do put a thin hat on top of the balaclava for extra warmth. As always, great post. Happy Monday

  3. I bought #13 in Black and wear it all the time. I layer it under my barbour olive quilted jacket and it is nice and warm for eating outside! Love it!!

  4. Thank you so much for this post. This is speaking my language! I already own several Pranayama wraps and Asym pullovers, and let me say…they are worth every penny even at full price. If you can ever snap one up on sale, don’t even think. Just do it.

Now I’m thinking I need a pair of those Rainier tights.
