Gettin’ There #CoffeeTalk

Birthday Girl

Thanks to all of you who have been pinning for me!! I can see an uptick in my Pinterest traffic again so I know that it’s helping.

As a blogger, there is nothing quite as demoralizing as seeing a huge drop in traffic . . . unless, of course, it’s a rude commenter. And, thankfully, I get very few of those!!!

Even when I know there is a reason behind it, it’s still rather depressing. And of course, when there’s very little I can do to fix it, that’s even MORE depressing!! I have still not heard from Pinterest . . . I keep hoping they can mark the old pins as safe so they aren’t giving spammy warnings. But in the meanwhile, getting new pins that are going to the right URL will help replenish the feed.

If you have no clue what I’m talking about, yesterday I shared that one of the casualties of my re-branding is that all Pinterest pins directed to my old musingsofahouseiwfe.com URL are being marked as spammy links, so people clicking on those pins aren’t getting to my site.

As a result, I’m trying to get as many pins as possible linked directly to my new URL — so any pinning you can do from my site will help!!! If you have a favorite recipe, travel picture, outfit or craft on my site… I’d appreciate it if you’d take a sec and pin it on Pinterest! Or you can go to this page, where I list my most popular posts, and pin some of these. Thank you sooooo much!!! I wish I could buy you each a latte.

Speaking of lattes, I met Kelly for coffee yesterday (a latte, to be exact) at Starbucks. We had a good laugh over the barista’s misspelling of my name. Of course I had to Instagram it.

Starbucks Name Fail

Getting out of the house and visiting with a friend was good for the soul. I’m so glad she reached out. I also got a workout in yesterday and a nap, so all in all, I’d say it was a good day.

Meanwhile, my new logo was delivered last night and I CANNOT WAIT to get it up and running. I’m waiting very impatiently on my dear web developer, Cathy, to wake up over there on the West coast and help me out! Seriously, if you ever need WordPress help, she’s your gal. I have her on retainer now so I can barrage her with questions any time I want. Bwahaha!!!

Yesterday was my youngest daughter’s 9th birthday. She is such a joyful little thing. She bounced out of bed and arrived beside my desk in her jammies, hair disheveled and eyes shining, all exuberance and love and light. This child adores attention and hasn’t got a single self-conscious bone in her body. She couldn’t wait for her turn to be queen for a day… or three.

Tonight is her birthday party, so last night we took her to her favorite spot, Sweet & Sassy, to get feathers in her hair. Afterwards we went out to dinner and then watched a movie while we cuddled on the couch. That’s MY kind of birthday celebration… small and quiet.

She, on the other hand, is looking forward to having our extended family over tonight… but I think she is MOST looking forward to her ice cream cake. More photos are sure to come!

Meanwhile, I’m hoping to have a relaxing and productive Saturday. Ours is looking pretty dreary so far. How about you?
