Getting My Color On with Team Shout®

Last Saturday I got up bright and early to drive into Philly for The Color Run with my Shout® Team. I knew it was going to be quite a different experience than my first Color Run last fall, but I had no idea I was going to end up ON STAGE at the very front of the most colorful party on the planet with my daughter and two of my fellow Philly Social Media Moms, throwing colored dye into the air and dancing like a schoolgirl.

It’s hard to imagine that we were ever NOT colorful. Here I am with my team before the run, all clean and decked out in tutus and knee socks and colorful headbands, about to get reeeeeally messy.

I love that Shout® sponsored the Color Run this year – talk about a great partnership. My team and I were able to get out, get messy, have a blast and not worry about the consequences because we knew Shout® had our back. They sent us each awesome prize pack filled with Shout® cleaning products, which definitely came in handy.

I started out in a rainbow tutu but I let my daughter wear it during the run and never got it back. Such is the life of a mom.

To add to the day’s excitement, I was able to choose 10 lucky winners to join my Shout® team and attend the Color Run with me! The team filled up quickly and almost everyone on my team ended up buying tickets for their kids so we had quite a group! That’s the cool thing about The Color Run — it’s fun for the whole family. There were tons of families there as well mother-daughter pairs and couples running together.

They put us right at the front of the Starting Line. Total VIP treatment. It was such a blast.

When we set off, we didn’t all stay together. Everyone broke off in groups according to their own pace, and I flitted from group to group throughout the race. It was super fun and I had a chance to chat with almost everybody, if only for a few minutes.

There are color stations set up throughout the course. Here are Jen and I after running through the first color station.

By the end, we looked like this. You can tell who had the color fights and who was content to let the color fall where it may.

Everyone had a blast and met up at the end for the big dance party, which was the best part of the whole event. The music was rocking, the DJ was animated, and the crowd was all in.

When it came to the Shout® Color Throw, some of us were allowed up on stage and others were on the floor, but regardless of where we stood, we were all at the front of the crowd, throwing orange-colored cornstarch, letting loose and living life out loud. It was an unforgettable experience.

And the fun wasn’t over yet. After the dance party, we headed to the Shout® 360 Color Cam where we once again were ushered to the front of the line (I sure could get used to this VIP treatment) and jumped around, showing off our colorful hues while a video camera recorded our antics.

My day at The Color Run eventually came to an end, but my summer fun isn’t over yet. I have a few more activities and trips with my family planned, and I’ll also be scanning the new Shout It Out Fun Finder for fun events in my neighborhood. See if any of them interest to you. Maybe we can meet up for another adventure!!

I wrote this post in partnership with Shout®. All colorful experiences and opinions are my own.

  1. What fun! My “running team” (we’re not really runners) is doing our 2nd color run this coming weekend! 🙂
