Green Printed Blouse Two Ways

Greetings and welcome back to 26 Days of Spring Fashion! Can you believe we’re already more than halfway through the series? Today I’m styling a green blouse two ways.

I had to laugh when Cyndi posted a green top two ways yesterday and we had styled them almost the exact same way. Great minds, and all that!

I love the details on this top — the flutter sleeves, the gathered back yoke, and the modest v-neck. It’s also the most gorgeous shade of green, and the flower branch print is really feminine and pretty.

It runs a little big, but I’m still wearing my usual small. It’s also quite long, so I did a front-tuck.

I had no idea this blouse was selling out until I went to write this post yesterday. People get cranky when I post things that are low inventory, but I swear, some of these stores (Loft is a major culprit) move their inventory so quickly, it’s almost impossible to get things out to you before the sizes start dwindling.

By the time I order something, it arrives 5 days later, I try it on, decide I like it, schedule a photo shoot, wait for my pictures to come back from my photographer, and then get a post written, things often start to sell out. I just got these pictures back from Alison on Sunday, so here we are.

The good news is, this blouse is fully stocked in petite sizes, and it runs a little big/long, so if you’re in between, you may be able to wear petite in this one. There are also a few plus sizes left, and they’re 50% off, but the other sizes are not.

Here are several other tops at Loft right now with a very similar style, and and you could wear any of them with white, black, or blue jeans. I particularly love that red one, and I think it’s exactly the same blouse, just in a different print.

And if you like the green, here are a few green blouses that would work with these looks, although they are all solids. (The first one does come in the bright green; I just couldn’t get it to show up that way in the widget.)

I styled this blouse two ways — first with white jeans and a denim jacket, and then with dark jeans and wedge sandals.

LOOK #1

My first inclination when I saw this blouse was to pair it with white jeans and a denim jacket. I think it’s such a fresh and springy combination.

I’m absolutely in love with these gold woven mules. I got mine during the Shopbop sale, and they’re also at Amazon, Nordstrom, and Saks. They’re actually very comfortable and easy to walk in, unlike a lot of mules I’ve tried.

They’re going to go with so much this spring and summer, and the gold is a little bit glam. For size reference, I sized down half in these from my normal size 8.

This bag is also a new addition this spring. I think I shared it once already, but if you missed it, the leather is soft and luxe, and it has a nice microfiber lining. Overall, I feel this bag looks and feels more expensive than it is. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one over the next few months!

It’s available at a lot of retailers, but the best deal right now is at Lord & Taylor because they’re running a spend more, save more sale, and you can get at least 20% off.

LOOK #2

I also styled this blouse with dark wash skinnies and brown wedge sandals.

These are those Good American jeans I got from Trunk Club a few months ago, and while I haven’t worn them a ton this winter, I think I’ll be wearing them a lot this spring.

They’re an inch longer than my AG legging ankle jeans, so they don’t work as well with ankle boots, but they do look great with pumps, flats, and sandals.

They also have a higher rise, so that plus the extra inch in the inseam visually elongates the line of the leg and creates a flattering silhouette. I’m wearing the 6, for reference, so I recommend sizing down if in between.

As far as accessories are concerned, I wore the same two necklaces and two bracelets that I wore with the black dress yesterday. In fact, these shoes and bag are the same too. The bag is old, sorry!

I also added gold double hoop earrings. I love the mix of delicates with this feminine blouse.

  1. Love this green! Just picked up a shirt this color myself and wore it with navy dress pants to work. I love the white jeans too – maybe that can be Friday’s look! 🙂

  2. Cute spring looks! Love the green.

If you haven’t tried nasal sinus irrigation to help the vertigo, give it a try. I’m a PT. If there is extra mucous around your eustachian tube, it can throw your inner ear vestibular system out of whack in layman’s terms. Use a sinus bottle (Neil Med is good) with only distilled water and sea salt with sodium bicarb (baking soda) to cut the stinging sensation. Do it in the morning, not evenings. Feel better soon! Allergies are a tough time.

  3. I am looking for a jean jacket that is a bit longer. The current one I have stops above my dress pants.

I do not need my entire back side showing at this point in my life!!! Let me know!!! Thanks

  4. I really like this series. In particular, I love when you do more than 1 look it gives me ideas of how to incorporate the piece into my wardrobe.
I live in California so our weather tends to be a little warmer than most. I wear a lot of casual dresses and I’m in desperate need of some layering pieces. Blazers do not look right with cotton dresses. Jean jackets work but often to warm and heavy. Cardigans can work but often look granny. If you could offer some suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Perhaps you have seen a fitted button down Jersey jacket?
Thanks for all that you do.

    1. I have the same conundrum with dresses – that’s why I usually do a denim jacket, but I hear ya, it’s not always the right look. Can be too casual. I’ve seen moto jackets with dresses, but that is very edgy and may not work for all situations either. I’ll keep an eye out and try to find some ideas.

  5. I’m so sorry to hear you’re not feeling well.  I have issues with vertigo sometimes and I hate it!  Although thankfully it’s never lasted more than a few days at a time.  I don’t know how you endured it for a month!

I love both looks!  Pairing the top with the white jeans looks so clean and classic and the dark wash jeans really makes the color of the top pop.  😍

  6. Once again, you are showing a look with something I had already purchased and received last week. We have such similar taste!  My question is about the sandals. Are they easy to walk in?  Do they slide at all?  I have high arches and can’t wear some of the higher wedges, but these look pretty wearable. And so cute!  I like the way you styled both outfits and maybe this weekend it will be warm enough to wear it!  I hope you feel better soon.

  7. Saying prayers that you feel better.
Love, love, love this blouse with the dark skinny jeans and neutral shoes and bag!

  8. The green looks great with the white jeans and denim jacket! Do you prefer the denim jackets from Vince Camuto or KUT from the Kloth?

  9. Jo Lynne I LOVE your style, but when you say same blouse two ways, I think you are going to do something that shows the blouse in two very different outfits.  Two pairs of jeans seems like pretty much the same thing.  What about with a work wear or night time outfit as the second?  More dressy or really just something different rather than the same feel both times.. Sorry, but you can do more than that!

  10. First off sorry to hear you’re suffering from Vertigo… I don’t know much about it but from what I’ve read it doesn’t sound like fun. So I hope you get the needed answers and feel better soon:) I absolutely love those mules…. You and Cyndi sure are on the same page I love it…. I was also able to find your CND nail polish right down the street at our local drug store. Ha who’d da thought… Cant wait to try it.

    Have a great day

  11. Love the green top! I want to try the Good American jeans. They look really nice.

Prayers for a speedy recovery from your vertigo episode! Take care.

  12. I didn’t see the original post on the issues you’re experiencing but I wanted to tell you what I went through several years back. I was dizzy, light-headed and nauseous especially when I tried to workout or turn on one side When I went to the doctor I was quickly diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo. They had me lie down and turn my head in different positions and even hang it over the side. All this to re-align the crystals in the inner ear! The problem has never reoccurred. I just wanted to let you know just in case. I hope you get better soon either way!

    1. Thanks, last time I was told it’s not the crystals. But I do think they used the term benign positional vertigo this morning so I’m not sure… LOL! Hopefully PT will help.

  13. Green is a great color on you! I love this blouse with your dark denim jeans.
Sorry you’re experiencing Vertigo. I have experienced it from time to time and
    it’s absolutely awful.
    Hope you feel better!

  14. Very pretty blouse!  I sure hope that you can get the vertigo under control soon!  I bet it is very annoying.  Hang in there!

  15. I feel for you dealing with vertigo. I too, suffered with vertigo following a sinus infection in the spring. Online, I found exercise for vertigo. My ENT, told me to look up at a corner point where the ceiling meets the wall and stare holding my head still. Say to my self repeatedly, ” I know that the lamp and room is not moving” . Sounds crazy, but it worked after a few seconds of repeating the mantra. Supposedly retains the brain.
By the way, you may be a dizzy dame but, you look lovely in these spring clothes.

  16. Sorry to hear about the vertigo! I hope it’s not annoying for you to get more medical advice. My MIL got relief from vertigo caused by ear crystals after being treatmed  by a physiotherapist at a dizziness clinic.

  17. I wore the exact same outfit as your first look to church on Sunday. Love the color of the blouse. Green sometimes makes me look ill, but this color was good on me!

  18. Jo-Lynne – So sorry you haven’t been feeling well! I, too, struggle with seasonal allergies and fluid- which can make a person feel “off.” Praying that you will get some relief soon! I love the green top with the dark denim and neutral. Do you think sizing down from my size S at Loft would be best? Thanks for all you do!

  19. Sorry to hear about your vertigo – been there, done that! Not sure if this applies to you or not but thought I’d throw it out there just in case. What I get is “benign positional vertigo” (BPV), which the ENT translates as “snow globe” vertigo, caused by crystals in the ear canal. My GP prescribed PT, which did NOT work, and actually made it worse. There is a simple maneuver you can do at home to totally resolve BPV – the Epley maneuver. If you’ve got BPV that will take care of the problem literally in minutes. It’s best to sleep more upright than flat the next few days, but beats the alternative. Again, if that’s not the type of vertigo you have it won’t help, but just in case… I went a couple weeks once before I got the BPV diagnosis and it was literally cleared up in 3 minutes! Fingers crossed…

  20. Morning Jo Lynne
Have you ever tried the Daily ritual t shirt dresses off Amazon. I have a couple in my cart but not sure if I’d be a small or medium? We are pretty much the same size only I’m 5’3 and 36 b bust. 135-140? Help if you can?

    1. I find that brand runs big – I would say small. I have one in my room to try on, actually, but it’s more of a beach coverup. I’m going to do a bunch of try-ons today.

  21. Jo-Lynne, I loved the green blouse so much, I went to our local Loft & bought it! I was surprised that I was able to wear a small, I usually wear medium in my blouses. I told the lady at the cash register that I had seen it on your fashion blog, but I’m guessing I would have to buy on line for you to get any credit. Love reading about all your activities & what you wore, it has helped me tremendously as I wore a uniform for over 30 years & never had to worry about what to wear, lol. Thanks for your insight & sharing.
