Happy Father’s Day!

I hope everyone is having a nice one.  We’re grillin’ and chillin’ here at the Musings household today.  The man of honor is snoozing, which is a rare treat (for him, not for me — I make a habit of napping EVERY Sunday afternoon.)  In a bit, I’ll throw some steaks and shrimp on the grill, and I’m sure we’ll find a bottle of red wine to accompany our Father’s Day feast.

After a week of potty training hell challenges, I wasn’t feeling up to entertaining today so we’re just laying low and enjoying the peace and quiet.

I do want to give a quick shout out to my own dad.  Dad, there’s a card coming on Monday!  Love you.  See you soon!!  (My parents are coming up this weekend to watch the kids while I’m off gallivanting at the She Speaks conference.)

Speaking of She Speaks, Sarah and I have a new roomie.  Robin from Pensieve is going to join us, and we can’t wait to see who really is the biggest big mouth.  I might have taken the Most Talkative award, but we’re going to put it to the test for real this weekend.  We’ll keep you posted.

In other totally unrelated news, when I was at the grocery this afternoon picking up some meat for dinner, there was this couple totally necking by the refrigerated meat case.  What’s UP with that?  I wanted to say, "GET A ROOM," but instead I skulked on by, trying to pretend there wasn’t a big white elephant in the room.

I hate it when people do obnoxious stuff like that, making innocent passersby feel embarrassed, when in truth, THEY are the ones who should be embarrassed. JEEZ, can’t they at least wait till they get to the car?

And on that disturbing note, enjoy the rest of your Father’s Day.  I know I will.

  1. We had wonderful filets on the grill today too. Dad is still napping and I am trying to wake up from a 3 hour nap. I am exhausted…those 2 years old put a hurting on me!

  2. You’re lucky, my day was not nearly as relaxing. Too much running around! I’m ready for She Speaks! See you there!!!

  3. I so totally agree with you about obnoxious people. If they want to “make out” they should at least not do it in a grocery store! Come on people – – like Jo-Lynne wanted to say – – Get a room or at least a car!
So nice to hear that Father’s Day was relaxing for you and yours!

  4. Lovely Fathers Day here in N Ireland too.

Did you deliberately plan to start potty-training just before you leave town for your SheSpeaks conference? Do you parents realise? Sounds like a great plan to me!
