Happy Thanksgiving!

sweater dress // similar boots // earrings

Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving Day to my friends here in the USA!

I hope you are all able to enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones today, but I’m sure some of you are working and some still feel safer being alone. I even know of a few who are sick and had to cancel their plans. Wherever you are and whatever the circumstances, I hope you find a few moments of joy and thankfulness today.

I’m actually cooking a full-fledged Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. Last year, we were alone and I just ordered it all from Whole Foods, which was fine, but I’m excited to make our family favorites and celebrate with some of our extended family this year.

Paul, bless his heart, took over the turkey. He brined it, and last night he cut it into parts so it will be easier to do on the smoker. I was dreading roasting a turkey, so that really took a load off. And C spent last night in the kitchen, making pies and dinner rolls, so all I have left to do is make a few sides and a cheese & charcuterie plate. It sounds easy enough, doesn’t it? Haha!

We shall see… it’s not that any one dish is that difficult, it’s timing it all to be ready at the same time that stresses me out. And I hate to spend all day in the kitchen while everyone is visiting, but that may be how it has to be.

Anyway! That’s what I’m up to today, and I really should get off the computer and start prepping.

Meanwhile, I did update my Cyber Week Shopping Guide. I added a few new sales — Athleta is probably the best one, with 20% off storewide, Evereve is doing 10% off, which is about all they ever do except for clearance items. Oh, and Anthropologie has 30% off sitewide.

I also updated the existing sales, as a lot of them got better today. LOFT went up to 50% off, Elemis went to 35% off, J.Crew went to 40% off, Minted went to 20% off $150+ orders, Soma went to 30% off sitewide, and Talbots has 50% off one item plus 40% off the rest of your purchase. That includes the sweater dress I’m wearing above.

Whew! That hits the highlights, I think. My post has product suggestions for each store, so check that out if you need more shopping inspiration.

I also went ahead and did a dedicated Nordstrom Black Friday Sale post because there is SO much good stuff on sale, and I also rounded up some men’s clothes and shoes for anyone who needs that.

Before I go, I just want to say how thankful I am for this community. I never in a million years thought I’d end up doing this for a living… even when I started this blog, I had no inkling of what it might become. I know I couldn’t do it without you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here, for commenting and interacting with me and each other, and for being so supportive and encouraging. xoxo

I want to thank you for creating a fashion blog where we can come for not only fashion advice but an enjoyable space. Your critique of pieces helps us make buying decisions. Too many influencers are now doing nothing but try on hauls. I find the commercialism too much. So thank you for creating content that speaks to your followers.
