Holiday Hostess Gift Ideas

I’m back with another gift guide today… this one is chock full of hostess gift ideas for all of those parties you have on the calendar this month. Many of these would also make good teacher gifts, if you know the teacher’s personal tastes.

Although what most teachers want you to know but don’t want to tell you is, they really just prefer a gift card. I usually just opted for that less personal but very practical gift. Teachers among us, feel free to chime in!

Unfortunately gift cards generally do not work for hostess gifts, so I rounded up a list of ideas that would be great for those occasions.

12 Awesome Hostess Gift Ideas

#1. Bourbon Infused Coffee // You don’t have to choose between an after-dinner coffee or after-dinner drink any longer. These 100% Arabica beans are infused in small batches with just a touch of Kentucky’s signature spirit, giving them an irresistible aroma and unique flavor. Contains caffeine but no alcohol.

#2. Marble & Wood Serving Platter // You can never have enough serving platters when entertaining and this marble and wood combo is modern as well as functional.

#3. Holiday Coffee Break Gift Basket // This gorgeous holiday basket includes baked goods made fresh from whole ingredients in a downtown Lima, Ohio bakery. It contains a variety of 4 handmade biscotti, 2 handmade granola bars, and 3 coffee samplers, each containing one eighth pound of coffee, perfect for brewing a single pot.

#4. Mud Pie Circa Hooray Dip Set // Whether it’s ‘Hummus for Some of Us’ or ‘Just in Queso’, Mud Pie has a dip cup for every occasion and every cuisine. These clever little dip cups provide entertainment as well as an attractive serving vessel.

#5. We Take The Cake // These cakes are made from scratch by hand without preservatives, and they can be stored ambient for 5 days upon receipt or 1 week refrigerated or 3 months frozen. Cakes are shrink wrapped and packed in our custom gift box for a beautiful presentation. I’ve received these before, and they are fabulous.

#6. Nickel & Suede Gold Leaf Gem Leather Earrings // I love supporting other women entrepreneurs, and these earrings were created by my friend and fellow fashion blogger, Kylee. These textured bright gold leather earrings are the perfect accessory for all of your holiday needs. The best part is, they’re amazingly lightweight.

#7. Williams Sonoma Red Goldtouch Nonstick Loaf Pan & Peppermint Bark Quick Bread Mix // These pans are designed to promote even baking and browning of quick breads, and this gift set comes with a festive quick bread mix for easy baking.

#8. Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Hand Soap Fir & Leather // I love a good hand soap and lotion set for the powder room, and these have a clean, rich scent. Plus the neutral color palette will work with any decor. Consider pairing them with this bathroom tray.

#9. Lenox Ribbon and Holly Boxed Fingertip Towel Set // These festive fingertip towels come in a box perfect for gift giving.

#10. Wine Stoppers // These sassy silicone wine stoppers provide an airtight seal that keeps your wine fresh and preserves the taste… it says for weeks, but do with that what you will. Personally, I don’t serve wine a week past opening, but they prevent spillage when wine bottles are stored on their sides, and they come in a clever gift box.

#11. Capri Blue Scented Jar Candle // These are my favorite candles for gift giving. They’re beautiful, and they smell wonderful.

#12. Salsa Grow Kit // If you know a salsa fan with a green thumb, this kit includes plant stakes, growing instructions, and 6 seed packets for Roma tomatoes, jalapeños, verde tomatillos, cilantro, scallions, and beefsteak tomatoes. Start them in the included recycled egg carton and transfer to a larger planter once they take off.

You can find all of those plus a few bonus hostess gift ideas in the shopping widget below.

  1. You are 100% correct on teachers wanting gift cards. I’ve been a middle school & high school teacher for over 20 yrs so I haven’t gotten too many Christmas presents from students (seems most stop giving gifts after elementary school which is sad), but I always love and appreciate a gift card!!

    1. During my group fitness class today the moms of school-age kids were discussing teacher gifts. The general conscious was that they stop giving gifts after middle school because the kids go from having 1 or 2 teachers to having 7-8. One mom has five kids and she pointed out that even giving $10.00 gift cards to several teachers times 5 kids is just too costly.

The local elementary school PTO does a nice service by asking the teachers to answer 2or 3 questions such as 1) your favorite snack, 2) favorite place to have lunch/ shop 3) hobbies? They then compile a list of all the teachers’ answers and make it available to the parents. The teachers are good about offering budget- friendly suggestions. You can feel good about bringing “Mrs. Jones” a bag of M&Ms because you know it’s her favorite thing.

  2. These are super cute ideas! I especially love the salsa grow kit and the Williams Sonoma quick bread set! I don’t know if you noticed but the quick bread set is on sale with free fast shipping! Thanks for putting all of these ideas together

  3. This post is so timely! Such great ideas!!
Have fun at your Loft event tonight. Sounds fun!! Too bad I don’t live anywhere close by otherwise would be fun to meet you. You had me at boozey hot chocolate! 😂

  4. Another idea for teachers is to buy something for the classroom. Most teachers buy supplies for their classroom with their own money. If your teacher does a prize box or class store consider purchasing items to help stock them. Otherwise extra school supplies are always needed. Last, offer to bring in lunch to him or her one day in Jan or Feb. it will give the teacher something to look forward to and they won’t have to pack their lunch the night before.
