Holiday Style: Silver & White

Good morning! Welcome back to 25 Days of Winter Fashion. Today I’m styling a simple silver and white outfit that is perfect for more casual holiday events when you want to look festive, but not over-the-top.

I know anyone can throw on a sweater and jeans with cute shoes and call it a day, so I tried to come up with something a little bit unexpected. I’ll probably wear this sweater most often with distressed skinnies and ballet flats, but for this post I decided to pair it with white jeans and nude pumps for a fun holiday going-out look.

I carried a metallic clutch and accessorized with jewelry that isn’t too fancy but has just enough bling to compliment the shimmery sweater.

You can't go wrong with metallics for holiday style!

I’m wearing my Lucky Brand tribal necklace and earrings. I love how they have both silver and gold and they’re dressy without being too much. The clutch is old, from Stella & Dot. It’s perfect, the way it is perforated and has a nude material behind the metallic, so it pulls in the nude shoes.

These white jeans are fantastic and I absolutely love them, but you definitely want to size up. I’m wearing a 30, and I usually wear 29 and even 28 sometimes.

I can see wearing this outfit to a holiday party in someone’s home or even a casual New Year’s Eve get together. I like the monochromatic look with metallics and white for a festive occasion.

  1. I love everything about this look! This is something I totally would be comfortable in wearing and it’s great how you make it looks so polished! Except I’d have to wear boots, otherwise cold feet!

  2. Love this outfit. Where are ankle jeans supposed to hit? At the ankle bone? Below? I’m tall at 5’9″ and most look more like Capri pants on me (which is ok in the sunmer but not in Pittsburgh in December). I’m thinking of trying the Land’s End white jeans as I can order a specific inseam.

    1. Hey Diana! So I had to google this to make sure I’m giving accurate info. I go more based on what looks right to my eye. I’m 5’5″ so pretty average size, but long legged, and I like the ones that are 29″ better than 28″ – but I think the 28″ is actually the “proper” length.

Angie has an EXCELLENT post on this at YouLookFab: https://youlookfab.com/2014/02/24/two-flattering-lengths-for-ankle-pants/

I couldn’t begin to regurgitate this in a comment, so I will give you her link. I hope it helps!

  3. Jo-Lynne, I am so sorry you’ve gotten sick! It’s no fun! They have done a lung x-ray on Larry, so we’re waiting on the results before they’ll start his treatment. I got sick last Thursday, and it’s still hanging around. Maybe the EmergenC will do the trick for you! I haven’t really taken anything consistently, like I should have.

You look so nice in the outfit! And your husband looks very dapper.
