I detest…

word verification spam filters on blogs.  That is all.

  1. CANNOT STAND THEM EITHER! Also, not a fan of the music… don’t they realize we’re trying to, ahem, READ? 🙂

  2. Are you also referring to the random letters one? Which I have? But don’t you think it’s a cheaper way to keep your brain working than buying the Brain Age game?

Do you think I would get more comments if I didn’t have it or would I have spam issues? Do you detest people who ask a lot of questions?

    🙂

  3. I don’t mind the one like on Blogger where you can just tab down to it, but I’m with you on the ones that pop up on a separate page!

  4. Don’t ya just love the ones that are all jumbled together, are blurred and have lines through them? Oh yeah … those are the ones that you always get wrong on the first try, get that annoying red error message stating you were an idiot for not getting it right, then they throw another one right back at you to try it again. Ugh! Ever get one with numbers and letters going in all directions? … I won’t even go there!

  5. ME TOO!!!

especially since I seem to be challenged with them and can never enter the right code on the first try. I’ve never used on and never been spammed…knock on wood.

  6. YOU AND ME BOTH. I don’t know why people use them. I’ve had my blog for almost two years and never get any spam comments, except maybe one or twice. Seriously, people, stop using them!

  7. Oh gosh, me too. They always think I’m some sort of Spam computer, and give me the scriptiest, vaguest verifications ever.

For those of you still verifying: I turned mine off a year ago, and I don’t get anymore spam than when it was on (less than 5 a year).

  8. I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but I have to have one. If it makes you feel better, I hate them too, and I curse when I have to try three times. But I still have one b/c I can’t stand the comment spam.

  9. I know some find them restrictive, but I have one because I was getting anonymous comments with “click here” and a link that seemed like it might be related to the post in question, but it linked to spam or worse. Now the problem is gone and they are out of my hair.
