I’m the proud new owner of…

a Motorolla RIZR (pronounced riser).

After a couple of trips to the cellular store, one returned Samsung Blast, and some highly scientific internet research, (how did we live without Google?) I determined that the RIZR meets all my qualifications for a cell phone — cute, PINK, good voice quality, and affordable, especially after the guy knocked $30 off the discounted price and threw in a free car charger because I just missed the “no activation fee” deal they had going last week.

How is that for a run-on sentence?

My 5-year-old daughter has tried to claim it as her own (after all, it’s PINK!) but I’ve threatened her within an inch of her life if she so much as touches it.  (That may sound severe, but she is the klutziest kid on the block, and I know if I let her within two yards of it, she will find a way to drop it on the floor.)

Now I get to spend the afternoon with the Owner’s Manual, beating my head against the wall, learning a new interface and loading my address book.  Which might be kinda fun, except did I mention that my mouth still hurts constantly?  How do people live with chronic pain?  HOW?  In all seriousness, if you are such a person, my heart goes out to you.

  1. Very Very Cool. I know what to look for next in about 2 years or if I wear out my phone sooner like I did to the last one! I am good at wearing out cell phones no matter how good they start! – or dropping them in a creek, or . .. .

  2. Congrats on the new phone! How exciting! I just learned how to export my address book! I feel so good that I actually KNOW what export means! ROFL

BTW, did you watch Oprah today? If not, check out the rerun tonight! Awesome stylin’ show!

  3. congrats on the new phone! My latest upgrade was also pink. I even found a clear plastic cover for it on ebay to protect it from the otherwise imminent damage it would undergo! 🙂

  4. My bff’s mom has this phone and she loves it! EMT-Dad has the Samsung Blast and he loves it. For some reason, in our house Motorolla’s don’t last. We had a RAZR and it bit it, hard. I have a Moto now and I hate it and I’m not sure how I’ve refrained from throwing it against the wall or running over it.

  5. Very cute. I get a new one in May. Keep us posted on how it works out for ya. Do you text a lot? Do you send pics or video much? I have gotten used to sending dh pics or videos of kids to him throughout the day, so my next phone will have to acomdate that.

  6. Oooohh COOL! I like how it slides up, seems very hip. Glad you got a good deal and that it fits your specs (um, PINK).

Sorry you are still having pain!! Are you taking anything? I hope is doesn’t linger too much longer. Did your Dr. give you a ballpark timelime?

  7. I have that exact same phone and the exact same color. 🙂 It is a pretty good phone and not too hard to use once you get used to it.

I remember having a dry socket with my wisdom teeth… that was so icky and the pain is no fun!!
